Shortly after moving, a family discovers that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to discover that it was not their house that was haunted. Will the family be able to survive this madness?

Most movies I watch, I already have certain expectations (but try to be open minded). Movies you expect to be good can be pretty bad ones and quite often I will watch a movie I expect to be bad and its a very good movie. I really had no ideas about this movie, I just watched it, not knowing what to expect. At first I did find it a little boring, but stuck with it. I am glad I did, as it turned out to be quite a scary movie without lots of gore or real great special effects. I think most horror fans will like it, but gore fans may not think its that great.

Not really a bad movie it actually had a good story line But, as for as the dad i seen better acting on early moring infomercials as much as he prob. got paid witch prob. wasn't much they could have give me $100 and took me out to applebees and i would have blew that bum outta the water. o yeah and the movie has alot of creepy face peole witch is always a plus.

this movie is hit and miss. its perfect for those who enjoy a great story that will give you chills. starts off very slow and builds into a thriller that will keep you hooked til the end. i would definitely reccomend this movie to anyone who loves movies with a freihtning twist.

this movie is hyped up to be something its not honestly! i get scared so easy but didnt find this movie scary! the first 30min were ok but then it went downhill from there. the acting was ok but i didnt personally like the plot after the 30min mark. i honestly though paranormal activity 1.2 was soo much better!

his creepy and scary film far exceeded my expectations, especially in comparison to other recent PG13 thrillers. The first half reminded me of Paranormal Activity. A family moves into a new home and begin experiencing objects moving by themselves, doors opening and closing, etc. These scenes are very effective in jolting the audiences and building up tension. When something happens to the young son (which i will not give away here) a team of specialists - 2 bumbling slackers and an old woman - are called in to rid the house of evil spirits. The film threatens to go over the brink from this point on, but its such a wild ride that you wont care.

Scary and Original-sort of like Amityville Horror .Gosh ! One of the Haunted Movie in ages and finally one that managed to send ripples of goosebumps from my head to my toes. Paranormal Activitys 1 and 2 is nice but this would be better . If any of you have yet to watch , and is in need of getting scared , do yourself a favour and watch it ! Being a horror movie lover , i would rate it 4/5 .

P.S Only watch if you're brave enough , not after watching , you will be sleepless for nights to come .

Insidious: was actually a pretty good film to watch! I love the story line dealing with astro-projection which was different from most I have seen and when I first saw this advertised I thought it was going to be a mocumentary.

I enjoyed watching this film even though it was a horror it wasn't too scary but had some creepy moments n the movie that made you didn't want to see.

Horror movies become less from year to year.. during this time.. Insidious is a really worth watching horror movie with unexpected turns and climax. Entrusting that the house was haunted first and then in the middle of the story, it turns onto the boy. Believe me.. you'll enjoy it.

Ghostly bumps in the night and odd noises occur in this a sort of cross between Paranormal Activity and Poltergist and the mesh is actually on the most part not bad at all.

Simple plot, idealic couple with three children move into a new house a'la Amityville Horror and a child goes into a coma and then strange things occur about the place and it seems like the house is haunted but wait there's the first well thought out twist and unique part of the film... its not the house!

When we work out and are told what is wrong with the child and how the parents can save him I did sit there and think 'oh dear' but through some very committed acting from everyone and tight direction they actually make it work and thus lots of bits are then nicked off Poltergist and we have a chase and stalk ending.

Whats good about this one is the genuine creepiness flowing through it and the twists on the stock scares, once your in the heroine or hero's POV you expect someone to suddenly jump out but the way Insidious does it here at points is nice and inventive.

Its a decent plot and the dialogue is perfectly passable and the music is quite brilliant, okay the main baddie thingy is a touch cheesy but there's no denying that up to that point the ghosts are pretty cool if not in my opinion crying out for a little more background into how they died.

You can see there's got to be something at the end and it doesnt disappoint and I thought the ending was actually pretty cool if you turned off the fact that it doesnt really make a Hell of a lot sense!

All in all, much better then some of the horrors that are being trotted out at the moment and defo worth a gander!

For Scary,Freaky Movie Buff this movie has a great plot kept you moving the whole movie it was captivating storyline was well written and the scares and spook was surprising. i thought this movie was a box office with the potential to be a seris of movies nothing like a part one etc....... overall a surprising 9/10

I Thought It was a good film. Great at building up tension, it did have its scary moments but some where predictable. The make up and special effects were good for the red faced demon and other "monsters". Overall a good film. it is worth watching if you are a horror fan like myself :)

first off, people on here say it starts slow. this isn't an action film its a horror film. keeping that in mind it moved along nice. worth a view if in the mood for a horror, not a slasher. so just watch it at night, turn off the lights, and enjoy the film.. 3.5/5

Yes, it is scary... But it is another of those movies that the trailler gets us more intrigued than the movie itself. I have got to say it is not that bad, but I expected a little bit more. Sometimes it gets to be so much fantasy and I couldn't feel afraid anymore. 6/10.

Insidious has a unique story which other horror/suspense films don't have. But if the filmmaker made this a realistic one, it will be better than this. The creatures/demons in the movie made it unbelievable. Insidious is better than the Paranormal Activity Trilogy. If you didn't watch this yet just get your large popcorn and soda, and sit along with the crowd. Be prepared for a good time.

I personally thought this movie was stupid, and not scary at all. Then again i've never been a big fan of "scary" movies, because they don't scare me ever. It's one thing that this movie isn't one bit scary, but it's another thing to almost be funny. The demons or whatever in this movie are the cheesiest looking things i even cracked a smile from seeing them. The guy with the gold claws is ridiculous. Not only that, but i dont understand what is up with that weird music that plays like 2 or 3 times in the movie. It doesnt make any sense. I thought the acting could have been a bit better also.

If they would have made the demons less stupid looking and cheesy, it would have been a little bit better. I could actually say this is one of the least scary movies i have seen.
