The plot of this movie begins in ancient Greek times, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against the gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth.

This movie is one of the films I can remember having watched as a kid in a big theatre. I liked the original a lot alongside Sinbad the eye of the tiger and the golden voyage. The story had plenty of charm, and a basic guide to Greek mythology.

Clash of the Titans found it difficult to beat the fun factor of the original film in my eyes. The story is lacking a little and everything seemed to move to quick to get the story moving to the next action sequence. Lead characters had been changed also.

The action scenes seemed to be scorpion-medusa-kraken and slightly predictable and not that engrossing. one thing i was unsure of was that we have, half-man half-god who needs to save Andromeda of Argos from becoming a monster sacrifice, now really...should he be able to defeat Hades' Kraken??? the kraken monster was totally over-sized and its not something a human can fight due to it being so damn big.....it did nothing but wail around being big and large....a bit like the huge dragon in how to train your dragon...big but not interesting. i wanted to see some serious mayhem caused by these huge gargantuan monsters but was disappointed to say the least.

On the other hand it did have a star-studded cast with some quality acting. Liam Neeson looking shiny and boyant in his Zeus armour and Ralph Fiennes playing Voldermort all over again with his rendition of Hades, and Mads Mikkelsen as Drago the Argos general.

I also think that pegasus should only be white in colour.

This film re-make wasnt shot using 3-D technology and they decided just like some other movies (alice in wonderland 2010) to create a 3-D version as an after-thought. having spent millions on this, it just didnt work to well at all. lets just call it a sad after thought. there were elements that worked and the field does run deep at times but not to a great effect as some that are shot using 3-D tech. I wanted to feel the bite of the scorpion on my nose while sitting in my seat...it just nipped and missed me by miles...

OK so conclusion....it falls short of the original and was so heavily marketed the hype was huge for me and it didnt deliver....i was left a little disappointed.

the rating system here doesnt allow for anything other than standard 1-5 marks. i give it 3.5 out of 5. it was slightly more than ok also.

Usually, there are certain aspects of a movie you like or dislike. One could agree or disagree certain take that director chose to do, certain changes, something that was below par, something that could have been better, that one could talk about. However, in this case, the task of reviewing this movie is difficult as from the very first scene to the last scene this movie is one unbearable, soul-less, boring, ugly and horrible disaster.

The original is a classic! It has heart, romance, soul, humor, sweetness, feel of an epic, beauty, nobility, overall feeling of an adventure, a quest, and yes it also had certain spooky quality, and deviousness.

This was a good plot the story was good as well there is a lot u can take from this movie like the fact that i never new wot a pegasus was. This movie is full of action some r comparing it to the original all a can say is move on with the times they r changing.I would recommend this to any one to watch Plus there is good acting in this film witch is a bonus 10/10

I wish they hadn't remade this movie at all. It's completely insulting to the original. The acting was wooden, the dialogue matched it, and every sequence was just plain neutrally subpar, LOL. This movie was truly tragic in every sense. I hope that Hollywood doesn't think that they're going to get by with putting out rubbish in 3-D. We're on to you Hollywood, the jig is up. Please don't insult your audience and for the sake of all that is worthy, STOP DESTROYING THE CLASSICS!!! Hollywood, you could have easily taken upon countless other stories of Greek Mythology and tried to be fresh and different without compromising the greatness of the original "Clash of the Titans". Instead, you were too concerned about lining your pockets. SAD, SAD, SAD. Hmm, it's getting' close to the tax deadline. Can I write off my expenses for watching this trash? Of course not.

This movie is a great movie i love greek mythologey so if you like those kind of things i recomend this to you. The actors in this a great sam worthington is i great actor as seen in avater and terminator salvation actuly i need to watch that film cause ive heard its a great film so back to the actors yeah liam neeson the films i know he's in batman isnt he yeah he is and the other main actors im not sure about realy but this movie i recomend to you 10/10.

It's doubtful that records are kept about this sort of thing, but consider the possibility that "Clash of the Titans" is the first film to actually be made worse by being in 3-D.

Not that this remake of the creaky 1981 original, best remembered for a slumming Laurence Olivier and Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation monsters, was ever going to be something to write home about. At least not for anyone older than 10.

For one thing, as directed by action junkie Louis Leterrier ("Transporter 2," "Unleashed") and written by Travis Beacham and Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi, this "Clash" has dialogue so plodding that a halfway decent line like "you have insulted powers beyond your comprehension" sounds like something out of Noel Coward.

Obviously, no one comes to a movie like this for repartee, but even the action scenes, with ancient Greek hero Perseus ("Avatar's Sam Worthington) facing off against an entire menagerie of mythical monsters, come off as lethargic and clunky.

Possibly because this film was converted to 3-D late in the game, the third dimension, especially in those action scenes, is more of a distraction than an enhancement. While some creatures, especially Pegasus the flying horse, flourish, 3-D clutters the film's innumerable battles, making them harder to follow rather than exciting.

"Clash of the Titans" is also burdened by a numskull plot notion. The idea is that though those ancient Greeks lived in a world where the gods were quite real and unimaginably powerful, these idiots decide to declare war on them, which is the short-sighted equivalent of teasing your younger brother even though he has the power to snap his fingers and turn you to stone.

Though it's not clear why they agreed to participate, having top actors play the gods -- Liam Neeson is Zeus! Ralph Fiennes is Hades! -- doesn't help things. Neeson looks lost in the godly costumes, and Fiennes, perhaps hoping no one will notice it's him, speaks largely in sinister whispers.

While the gods are going through their paces and bemoaning the absence of human worship, Perseus, a demigod like his namesake Percy Jackson in the equally pedestrian "The Lightning Thief," is making his way in the world and discovering that he is the son of Zeus.

Perseus spends years with the adoptive fisherfolk parents Spyros and Marmara (the odd couple pairing of Pete Postlethwaite and Elizabeth McGovern) who found him floating in the sea. Spyros is one of those fed-up-with-the-gods folks who is fond of ominously saying, "One day, someone is going to have to take a stand." Guess who.

Back in the Greek city of Athos, the anti-gods movement is moving full steam ahead. Then Hades comes to town and puts a good scare into the populace, telling them that unless they sacrifice their beloved princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos), he will unleash the dread Kraken -- not the most fearsome name for a monster but there you have it -- and Athos will be destroyed.

Because he is the only demigod in town and because he is irked beyond measure at the Olympians for their part in his parents' death, Perseus agrees to look for a way to kill the Kraken. He takes a crack team of warriors and adventurers with him, including the canny veteran soldier Draco, nicely played by Mads Mikkelsen.

Clash of the Titans....hmmmmm.

Being a Film Maker, I am often asked what are my Favorite and Worst films. Now for my fave film, I cannot give a straight answer. However when it comes to worst film, for me I will say 'Clash Of the Titans'.

This film was sold to us as a great, well made action fantasy, which both elements, this film did have, however it was a far cry from well made. I honestly feel that the guy who made the trailer for this film deserves a freaking award for making this film look as good as I thought it was going to be.

My reasons for this poor review are 3 Fold.

1. The Cast - What a cast this film had, Pete Postltehwaite, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes; 3 amazing actors that qwere in no way utilized as well as they could have been. Zeus was a wrathful God yes, but how much screen time was truly given to him same for Ralph. Pete Postlethwaite (RIP BTW), in and out in a flash. Not only that but instead of giving the best actors screen time, instead it was given to characters that made literally zero sense Eusebios, Nicholas Hoult (One of Britians most over rated actors might I ad), he was built up to be this young soldier becoming a man in the face of danger and then boom, he turns to stone having not even been concluded as a character, he came in as a wimp and left as a wimp. I just felt that the overall cast was lacking. Even Jason Flemying, of whom I am a massive fan didnt do it for me, bad direction on this part.

2. Rushed Story - It speaks for itself, one second he was a man, the next he was half God, then he was an amazing warrior who had a complete grip on his destiny, in no time at all. It felt that they were trying to cram to much in, they should have played the medusa story on its own and brought the Kraken in for a sequel instead of rushing and making the only good bit (The Kraken) less than 13 Mins long. Also as far as the story goes, how many characters came and went, we were constantly meeting new people who didnt seem to have any real relevance to the story, I'm just not sure what the producers were looking for with this. Shame.

3. The CGI - This bit is short and far from sweet. The only thing I enjoyed about the original Clash of the Titans was the Stop Motion action. In this film they have taken a poor film, and the one aspect that was cool about it, has now become this run of the mill, kind of boring CGI, just didnt enjoy it.

I have slagged this film off substantially, but that is only my opinion, I understand why people do like this film, it just really disappointed me, I hope that the Wrath of the Titans does a better job, I guess I'll have to wait.

I loved it!! I Just seen it a few weeks ago but I love Sam Worthington as it is so yeah xD. I thought it was a pretty good action film, a lot of suspense and twist and turns in the movie, (At least to me there were) I think he protrayed the Chara of Perseus really well, also I loved how he fought against the "Becoming" of a God, He wanted to stay who he was raised as(?) (to me he did) that that was another thing I fell in love with in this movie, Everyone has there right to choose there path and I think Sam did a wonderful job with trying to portray Perseus the way he did.

To employ a cliché, there's good news and bad news for Clash of the Titans fans. The good news is that the 2010 remake is an improvement upon the 1981 original. The bad news is that the degree of improvement is minor and much of what's enhanced about this interpretation of Greek mythology is undone by some of the worst 3D rendering since circular polarization replaced the old red lens/blue lens approach. Anyone interested in seeing Clash of the Titans is recommended to seek out the 2D experience - not only is it less expensive but it will permit enjoyment of the story without distractions that include, but are not limited to, motion blur during action sequences, perpetual dimness, and headaches/nausea. The 3D looks bad; for the most part, it's 2D in different planes - an effect which makes everything appear unconvincing and is as compelling an argument as one can find for why this sort of "quickie" conversion should not be foisted upon audiences.

Clash of the Titans can best be described as a re-imagination of the 1981 movie which was, in turn, a re-telling of the legend of Perseus. The 2010 version focuses on the half-god/half-mortal hero (played by Sam Worthington) but also explores the politics of Mount Olympus, with Hades (Ralph Fiennes) plotting against his brother, Zeus (Liam Neeson). The gods have become annoyed that men are failing to show them proper respect. As a form of punishment, Hades has issued an ultimatum to the citizens of Argos: sacrifice their princess, Andromeda (Alexa Davalos), or he'll unleash the full fury of the monstrous Kraken upon the land. Perseus, who bears a grudge against Hades related to the death of his adopted father (Pete Posthethwaite), assembles a group of men and one woman. He has ten days to discover the means by which the Kraken can be defeated before Andromeda's life is forfeit.

Many of the memorable elements of the original have been carried forward to this re-make, including a fight against supersized scorpions, the battle to claim Medusa's head, a romance between Perseus and a female companion (in this case it's Io, played by Gemma Arterton, instead of Andromeda), and the manner in which the climactic struggle is resolved. The creature Calibos is present but he is no longer a centaur. The mechanical owl Bubo, sometimes referred to as the Jar-Jar Binks of the original Clash of the Titans, makes a cameo appearance. Pegasus is here, although he has undergone a color change. Improved special effects, less cheesy dialogue, and a reduction in inappropriate humor allow the 2010 Clash of the Titans to be taken more seriously than the 1981 version, but improbabilities in the story occasionally make it difficult to swallow what's being spoon-fed. Even a fantasy adventure needs to apply some level of internal logic, and that's not always the case here. (Hades' master plan, for example - which is new to this incarnation - does not bear up to even cursory examination.)

The monsters are represented effectively in CGI - they lack the signature appearance of the painstaking Ray Harryhausen stop-motion animation that characterized the first one, but they are state-of-the-art and as believable as one might expect for giant sea monsters and serpentine women with snakes for hair. The 1981 Clash of the Titans was a mix of the good and the bad when it came to special effects. This one is less open to criticism on that level. And, although Olympus doesn't dazzle with its spectacle, the Underworld is impressively realized. The scenes in which the characters approach Medusa's lair aboard Charon's ferry are among Clash of the Titans' most evocative.

When it comes to the characters, that's where the movie's Achilles heel becomes apparent: there aren't any, or at least none that attain even a semblance of three-dimensionality. Okay, no one goes to something called Clash of the Titans with the expectation of meaningful drama or deep introspection, but would it be too much to ask that the lead character have a personality? Sam Worthington has become the go-to actor for big budget spectacles - this is his third in less than a year (following Terminator: Salvation and Avatar) - and he continues to show as much range as the special effects with which he is surrounded. To say there is no chemistry between Worthington and Gemma Arterton (Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace) is to state the obvious, because director Louis Leterrier obviously doesn't care about the film's love story. (It's so underdeveloped that one wonders why he doesn't dispense with it altogether.) An expectation that the presence of acting giants like Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes might elevate the quality of performances proves to be unfounded. Like Lawrence Olivier in the original, they play down to the material rather than having it rise to their level.

Clash of the Titans is perhaps the first major 3D movie to be aimed squarely at teenage boys. It's hard to imagine this movie capturing a wider audience, although there will undoubtedly be viewers who attend the production for its nostalgia value. The film offers a no-frills approach to fantasy/adventure, providing monsters, mayhem, and violence aplenty with just enough restraint not to overstep the bounds of the PG-13 rating. Those who see Clash of the Titans in 2D might argue that it harkens back to some of the classic B-movie fantastical adventures that were popular during the middle decades of the 20th century. Those who see it in 3D may be so exasperated by the visual clutter that they won't be as kindly disposed. Clash of the Titans is a flawed but mildly entertaining regurgitation of Greek mythological elements, but it's also an example of how poorly executed 3D can hamstring a would-be spectacle.

Well for anyone that has not seen the original version, you may like it. As for me, I thought it could have been alot better. I expected it to be more then it was. Sam Worthington was not so great in the movie, he was much better in Avatar and Terminator. I felt like they left out plenty of great stuff from the original and made it fast. Story line kind of sucked and could have had more depth. As for a remake its not the greatest but some of the effects were cool. The Kracken was not to bad. The movie reminds me of god of war alittle.

I found the movie to be good if you were watching it for the action. I find that the movie kind of just wondered on for a while without much happening, then in the last 15 minutes of the movie is when the battle with the craken occurs; even then the battle was not very good. I think that the best action and the main action for the craken was with madusa. This movie is however better than the original. Even though i didnt like some things about this movie i found myself liking it, although some parts could have been much better.
