Das Experiment: The movie is based on the infamous "Stanford Prison Experiment" conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The 'prisoners' are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the 'guards' are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority. |

GREAT movie watch it before you view the remake as long as you dont mind subtitles 4/5

The description pretty much sums up what it is about. It is in German however it's well worth the watch, it shows what power does if not dealt with properly. 4/5

damn this looked awsome based on what i read about it but its in german =( i have no patience with subs if anyone knows where i can watch a dubbed 1 lmk!

sorry smokie I hated the main character becuase he was intentionally being a dick. but a worth while flick. I actually had to study this for psychology class. 3.5/5

i liked the remake with adrein brody. i haven't seen this (the original) though.
