pretty good documentary/ film. sad how humanity decides to live. i just discovered recently theres a fungus that can eat/ break down types of plastic. im sure this will come in handy for the future. the main dude in this was like a nerdy/ indie justin timberlake. :}

wish plastics wasn't discovered by humans, it accumulates everywhere and normally decays only after 20 years .

If you don't see it, it doesn't exist. Unfortunately it does exist. This is a really scary documentary. This planet is screwed. Thankful that these people did this film. I just kinda feel sick about how we take this planet for granted. I hope everyone watches this.

Very informative but also very boring , The bottom line is we have and still are destroying all our natural resources,there is not an actual island of garbage just bits and pieces everywhere or if there is you do not get to see it in this film . If i could do things over i would not watch this again .

The comment just before mine down there has a very erm shallow account of this movie. I would have agreed half way through but about 3/4 of the way in it takes a few interesting turns. I would suggest watching this if you have an attention span.

Plastic doesn't really degrade, it slowly falls apart in loose molecules that drift in a evil soup. The molecules then stick to additional ugly toxins and you get horrible stuff that enters the food chain with plankton and suchlike. The doc is interesting, not very pro but content is very 'good'.

It's kinda like "Out of sight, out of mind"... we have no idea it's there and the massive underlying problems it is causing until you see programs like this.
