The Sunset Limited: The play involves only two nameless characters, designated “White” and “Black”, their respective skin colors. Offstage, before the play begins, Black saves White from throwing himself before a train, the sunset limited. All of the action happens in Black’s spare apartment in urban Ny, in which the characters go (in the behest of Black) after their encounter concerning the platform. Black is definitely an ex-convict as well as an evangelical Christian. White is definitely an atheist along with a professor. They debate this really is of human suffering, the existence of God, and also the propriety of White’s attempted suicide.

Not the kind a movie a person lacking depth or any sense of spirituality would enjoy much, but this was an amazing film from beginning to end. The combination and contrast of Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson was just about flawless. Enlighten yourself. 10/10

If you are seeking truth, search for ''truth contest'' on Google, click the 1st link and open the Present (universal truth). Truth Contest is an open contest that anyone can submit an entry to, dedicated to the truth about life and death. It is not a dogma with a fixed view, and all entries are evaluated using the evidence, critical reason, logic, common sense, and scientific methods. The Present is the top entry, There is no other type of website on the internet that is anything like this, and the thing's said in the Present have never been said together to make as much sense as they do. You just have to have an open mind, You have to doubt all thing's that require faith or belief, and question the nature of all other's that don't. This website is growing rapidly and progressively, and alot of people are talking about it. It defines the quick truth about life and death in 12 easy to read short pages first, then it goes on after that to make thing's more clear and go into more detail's in the other section's on thing's that were said and thing's that were not. There is alot of truth in The Sunset Limited, Check out Truth Contest for yourself. Check what is said in it, Question it with an open mind.

yo this movie was so good that err1 i tell must watch it. i mean the convo between them was so well orchestrated; it to me really seem like there own points of view. i mean be that as it may actors; tend to add a lil of themselves to there parts. that is not wat i mean i mean like there was no script. they just went in on own thoughts. i like how the convo kept u sittin there threw out the whole movie; to the point that u don't even notice that they are in one room the whole time. i give this movie 5/5.

I wish more movies were like this, simply dialogue on the philosophy of life. Two average guys living in two totally different worlds each with their own perspective. This movie reminded me of talks that I've had with anti-natalists, particularly TLJ's point of view. At the same time, I can understand where both sides are coming from, yet there is still one mystery from the religion angle and that is: why can't some religious people accept that suicide may be considered salvation for some people, but not only that; why is death and specifically suicide so shunned upon in western culture? Back in the day under the Samurai code, suicide was sometimes considered honorable. I don't understand why death and suicide is often demonized. I'm not religious, but I'd assume there's another life after death, whatever that may be; to say that would be heaven, or hell, is nothing more or less than speculation. But decide for yourself. There were a few minor details that I would have changed, anyways.. 4.3/5

reading the comments this movie interests me a whole lot. i'm a future theology major and i love all talks about belief and hope and the belief that there is no hope, specially if one can sit down and have an actual equal conversation where both parties are respected, and this movie brings in just taht. i love these two actors and am hoping that more movies that are this interesting come out.

This is such a great and deep movie. It's only a few actors that I could sit down and watch just talk throughout a whole movie and Sam Jack is one of them. Never knew Tommy Lee Jones was so good.

Wow. This is deep. I myself often have these conversations about challenging topics, and this film really captures two very different views of the same thing. Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones are amazing. I don't even know if this can be rated, but 10/10
