despite the negative views i love this film, good actors interesting plot/script, haven't read the book, though im going to now, ive watched this film many times and i could watch it again, i dont know why 8/10

As in nearly all cases, the book is better. However, I do think this film is worth a watch. If you're a sci-fi fan, definately give this movie a try. It is an idea-based science fiction film as opposed to a monster-action sci fi movie, and this fact will turn some people off. True sci-fi thriller fans will enjoy this movie. Solid Cast, interesting story. Give it a try. 7.5/10

good movie, strange but good

Having read the book and found it very interesting, I was disappointed to see how little this movie explained about the sphere or showed what happened inside, in the storyline. While the cast did a good job of acting,most of what made this good, could have been condensed into forty five minutes instead of the length it was put into. There was some originality in the plot, and nice twists however and scripting.I liked the imaginative work that went into figuring out how to communicate between the humans and the sphere.3/5

This movie is good in the sense that it brings another idea of what 'alien' can be. The story is good especially when you realise the end. It definitely counts among the best sci-fi movies of the 20thC.

This movie is a must see. 5/5 But Youku is slow loading so pause it and let it load for a while. Stagevu is good but it's better if you pause it and load it for a while too or else it gets a little messed up by pausing then speeding up to catch the video up with the voice.
