I really enjoyed this movie. It was different, weird (in a good sense), really well done and the acting was brilliant

this film has a great atmosphere and a amazing score, oh and the visuals matched the style of the film beautifully.7/10

Good Sci-Fi movie

luv space scifi n this wont dissapoint you stunning visuals

Its rare to see a Sci-fi romance movie. I think it can be placed in the same kind of category of movie as The Fountain. The pacing of this movie is not something I'm used to. Its slow.....realllly slow in some parts. It reminds me almost of those old silent films that were in black and white. Someone with ADHD would die watching this movie because it requires a long attention span. Over all I like it but its not something I would watch again. This movie tries to make you question reality and poses the question is there is a god? In truth I like to make up my own reasons why and how WE got here in my mind but the sad fact is that there is just no answer, and theres no means in which to find out the answer to our own existence. Both Science and Religion try to give us the answers to how we got here and what happens after death but neither can be proven correct. So I challenge you to use your own brain that was given to you at birth to try and brainstorm and come up with your own answers to life's big questions. I feel like people in society today just accept the easy answers that others give them whether it be through religion or science, and they don't put in the effort to try and come up with their own answers. On the reality aspect, I can't tell you whether our reality is really real or if its just an illusion. The only advice I can give you is to enjoy this crazy ride called life to the fullest while you have it, regardless if its real or not. I give the movie a 5.5/10 good for a one time watch.

I liked this movie but Tarkovsky's Russian version was better because it brought a new vision and was ahead of its time , when it came out. This one is not bad given the modernity of the issue to appeal to its audience but i feel it fails in conveying the melancholic gibbrish of ambiguity the 70s version did so naturally. Soderbergh tried a bit too hard to cram the intangebility of understanding into this one. This Solaris of course exploits an issue that strikes a cord with the main stream audience of today as no doudt it was meant to be an artisitic endeavour that got lost between a producer who wanted to show he was not rooted to an americanised cinematographic system and big studios who want to see the big money roll out of anything they green light. What Soderbergh did not get was that Tarkovsky's version was an action movie that ended with an inadverted artistic flavour because the Russians can infuse that involuntarily in their movies. This solaris might be a sincere effort and deserves to be viewed if you are a fan of such genre but sadly it does not stand out as it predecessor did

Top Movie, Clooney in space; works like a dream. The concept is great and the movie has tension and drama in all the right places. Very stylish and very cool. I cant wait for Clooney's next space adventure in 'Gravity' coming late 2012 ****

not my bag. I thought this would be interesting but I was wrong, at least for myself. I found it boring and couldn't get past the first 20 mins into it. I really don't care about relationships in these kinds of films. I was watching this for the scifi aspect, kind of ruined it for me. 1/5

maybe its because i wasn't following along as well as i should have. it was hard for me to keep up with this movie. i think i saw this movie differently compared to some guy 47 year old uppper middle class white guy thats been married for twenty years.
