i came across this movie a couple of years ago and when somebody asks me now for a decent action movie i suggest this movie - it is definately more than your average spy movie and it gives a more realistic outlook on how it isn't all happy endings in the spy business. 9/10 in my books.

An excellently executed film - script, producing, directing,scenes, and most of all acting - Two great actors and all the supporting cast. What a job! watch it 10/10

this isn't Ridley's its His brother Tony Scott's movie also known for Top Gun One of my favorite Spy movies. Very well scripted and acted....

interesting way to shoot the film with flashbacks...very good watch...ridley scott does a great job as expected....the cast is fantastic...happy ending...

I really thought this was just okay. Had very good acting and an interesting enough plot, but it just wasn't that amazing or original. I would have liked to see a little more of Brad Pitts character and his situation. Still worth a watch though.

Fantastic film, Great cast and plot perfectly executed. You stay riveted and rooting for them the whole time. Has to be one the best spy thriller made in recent times. 10/10

Action, love, deception, betrayal and cunningness..this one has it all. Redford and Pitt have really good chemistry in this one.

One of my favourite Spy/Action movies ever. The cast are sooo well matched... not that they each inhabit their characters so well, which they do, but moreover the relationships are as natural as natural should, the man/woman, friend/friend, asset/handler. Redford has established himself as great and only adds to his rep here but Pitt again puts in a performance that can only help him on the path to one day being wherre Redford is. The plot is convoluted but told so beautifully that all is explained smartly and with no extra fat by way of needlessly simplified explanations laced within dialogue that sounds like un-natural narration from the mouth of a character. It justs reeks of action, intrigue, espionage and everything that brought us out of the tired smarm of Bond to the breathless pace and cool of Bourne. WATCH IT!
