Watch The Dish: In the days before the July 19, 1969 space mission that marked humankind's first steps on the moon, NASA was working with a group of Australian technicians who had agreed to rig up a satellite interface. That the Aussies placed the satellite dish smack dab in the middle of an Australian sheep farm in the boondocks town of Parkes was just one of the reasons that NASA was concerned. Based on a true story, The Dish takes a smart, witty, comical look at the differing cultural attitudes between Australia and the U.S. while revisiting one of the greatest events in history. |

I loved this movie! I remember when I watch it on the TV. I couldn't take my eye's off the TV. I was young at that time in 69 & all the other kids were out swimming in the Park pool, but this was History in front of me. To know what it took to make it all happen was very interesting to me & what they now what they call (the line of site) witch they didn't even know what to call it back then or even try to explain to any one. I read so of the comments & I'm not a Grandparent yet,so it really did happen this was HISTORY!!! Why do you think we are going to Mars & land on Mars it will take over a year or so I'm not just how long it will take, but it's coming soon!!

I enjoyed seeing this point in history from a side not heard from often, the Australian's. They have such a laid back attitude and strong sense of humour it really showed another side to the NASA space mission. This gets a 4/5 from me. Thank you uplinkers

Very nice movie, funny, funny. I just about died laughing when they played the national anthem. Minute 35, worth the movie. Crazy Aussie sense of humor!
