Wow.. What a sick and twisted women she was. Sometimes you just sit back and wonder that there are actually people in our human race out there like that, which in fact does not deserve the title Human at all. I can't understand something like this or rap my mind around the fact that this is a true story even though I know it is. I do like horror movies and i like even the saw series but that what makes them so scary is that someone could actually do something like that. If someone did this to my son they would be dead where they stand and I'm sure alot of you would agree after you watch this... very sad and it will make you very very angry. You will learn more. after the movie Google the girls name and it will tell you the full outcome. I do have to say that the acting was outstanding and I think they did this movie to help us be aware that this is out there and does happen. "American Crime" movie different version of this.

I watched an american crime today and it was so horrifying that i think it emotionally numbed me. I watched this out of curiosity because everyone was talking about it but i think it pales in comparison to an american crime. Why? first of all the acting was much much better in american crime. also because an american crime is an absolute true story that conveyed the brutality and inhumanity of such a crime without in a sense, totally exploiting the story just for a couple of great torture scenes. The torture she experienced (sylvia) was a reality that had to be dealt with in the movie, but the difference with this movie is that I really feel like some people might get some sick pleasure out of watching it. I know it is based on a book so i should really be critiquing the book and the author who wrote it, but he obviously got the storyline from sylvia's murder and just decided to amplify it so he could make it as exciting as possible. The story of sylvia's death has many different levels and is so much more complex because we are not just dealing with a couple of hotheaded hormonal teenage boys with anger issues - we are witnessing sociological phenomenons like mob mentality and a sort of complex religious brainwashing.

I dont know, perhaps it is just me, but somehow i feel guilty for having watched this movie. After watching the american crime i didnt feel guilty - i felt like i learned about sylvia's story and it was in a sense, a tribute to her forgotten story. Anyway, this post is really crappy and i realize that so i will just chalk it up to my emotions.

but MY ADVICE - don't watch this movie. Instead, learn something and watch an american crime and then go read about the history of it so you can get all the facts that werent shown in the movie.

A ruthless and demented portrayal of the Sylvia Likens Story, A young girl who was viciously raped and tortured in 1965 in the state of Indiana. The movie starts as an old man remembering a bitter past, to when he was a child and the most horrific events to imagine possible happened before his eyes and beyond his control. A neighbour mother who is completely psychopathic, manipulative and evil, forces her sons to commit unthinkable acts upon this poor girl who in the end, pays the ultimate price, but not before suffering such agony and despair and for no more a reason then because it could be done.

Horrible to think that this has already happened to a girl. An adult's power over a child is so intense that the boy felt he could do nothing, until he discovered he was much more porwerful than he thought. Unfortunately it was too late. Unfortunately it is too late for many other children nowadays who are in the hands og evil people just like this woman and these muppets.
