I agree !! After I watched it I felt sick. The acting was good, but the film just made me feel really ICKY......

It's good to see a lot of positive reviews on this one. When it came to DVD, I was working at a Movie Gallery (rental store). At that time I thought I was the only one that didn't hate it.

Excellent performances from all 4 lead actors. Fantastically original story grabs u from the start and keeps u.

MOVIE WAS KIND OF WEIRD AND AT SOME POINTS I WAS A LITTLE CONFUSED, BUT THE MOVIE WAS DIFFERENT AND KEEPS YOUR ATTENTION BC YOU ARE ALWAYS WONDERING WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. VERY REAL & CAPTIVATING AT POINTS. CLIVE OWEN WAS EXCELLENT. 8/10

Famous actors, great acting, even written well but kind of fucked up, the whole thing really...wierd.

This was an interesting movie. It was apparent that it came from a modern stage play since the script was more realistic. The movie was a story, no real happy ending, no good versus evil, just a story of how relationships and love are never easy. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. I really don'y do the love story that much,but this was more then the same old stuff. idk, it had some kick to it. you will just have to watch to see what i mean....

Pretty good film. I love the way the camera gets in close(hence the title?), so we see every facial / body movement. LOVED the first 15 mins where Law and Portman meet; and second scene (Law/ Roberts). Not many actors can stand up to this close scrutiny; these COULD, esp. Portman. Unfortunately, the dialogue isn't quite naturalistic enough for me -or the medium (though i guess US viewers might think Brits really sound like this); and up this close I didn't QUITE believe in the relationships. In short, not QUITE TRUE enough. Too stagey. But who am i kidding? it's still a great film.

I'll never understand why people cheat, and this movie shows how destructive it can be to drag on a relationship you're not committed to. The scene where the guys are online and the scene that follows at the aquarium was hilarious. Great cast and worth a watch, I'm surprised I have never seen (or even heard of) this movie before now. Clive Owen was my favorite and Jude Law was by far my most hated character in this.
