This movie seemed like it was going to be cheese, and it was, but it was a good cheesy. The action was OK. I was in to it. The girls are really pretty and do a real good job in it. Matt Damion was OK. Not great but he got better as the movie came along. If it wasn't based on a true story, it would be hard to believe the story line. It needs more animal fun. All in all not bad

This movie is such a dramatic, action-packed film that is great for the whole family, individuals, and couples. Makes you love your life, the funny parts, the sad parts, and the crazy parts. This movie also has a nice way of conveying the message to kids on mother-nature and all of its wonders! Scarlett was amazing in this movie and Matt accompanied her brilliantly.

i wasn't expecting much from this as i wanted something to make me sleepy as i watched it at four in the morning but i was surprised as this was such a heart warming family film. it made me laugh and it made me sad but is an excellent film and will defiantly be watching again soon and i hope you do too.

Director Cameron Crowe pulls out all the stops to get the most out of this story. Not much actually happens: a widower (Matt Damon) faces difficult times coping with the loss of his wife. He decides to move out of his apartment where he he's been left to raise a son and daughter. He buys a zoo, and this sets the stage for the rest of the film. What director Crowe does instead is focus on the characters, and the animals in turn become more characters. The result is a heart-warming family movie that draws you in. You feel the emtions Benjamin is going through and how much he has to deal with as a single father. You feel for each of the remaining zoo caretakers, and you feel for the animals. By the end of the movie you feel like you've been on an emotional adventure. Cameron Crowe always has great music and scene transition scores in his movies, and We Bought a Zoo is no exception. It's hard to find a weakness to this film. Perhaps some of the dialogue is a little cheesey. All in all, a solid, warm movie that kids will like too. 8/10
