this one stays with you, that's for sure. it's very atmospheric, sexual and scary for sure. Not for the very sensitive who don't understand that no animals were hurt during the making of this movie. I enjoyed asking why???? until the very end.

One of my favorite movies of the 1970's. Richard Burton was always interesting to watch then and movies could take risks in subject matter and treatment. Miss those type of movies. Good stuff...

Should have been one with Daniel Radcliffe. Too bad they just made a Broadway performance and not a film :( On the other hand it is a fine movie with a deep storyline. Thumbs up from me.

Intense acting, especially by Richard Burton. '...and however there is a chain in my mouth that never comes out'.

this movie is a little bit odd, but there's really great acting in it, and it's interesting, til the end I coundn't stop watching it. And don't be afraid, it's not really a horror movie. There's just one scene in the end, where the boy hurts some horses great storyline!!! :-)

I would love to watch it, but like the person above me I am afraid to watch any animal cruelty. Plus I love horses.

Compelling!! Equus has a stellar cast - Richard Burton, Peter Firth (when he was young and very pretty!), Joan Plowright, and a very young Eileen Atkins. The script is heavy, but worth staying with. It asks the age-old question - who is the crazy one......the boy who experiences passion, but is considered insane, or the psychiatrist who lives a predictable but dull life?? It pushes the boundaries of your mind.
