Decent film, takes a little investment to watch, but well worth it!, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt were well paired , and their performances give justice to the story line, production values were good, but this whole concept could have been taken to an outstanding level with a slightly broader vision

We have all wondered about things like fate and free will. Are our lives preordained, do we really get to make decisions based on free will, or is it all just a facade? The Adjustment Bureau is wonderfully written and Matt Damon is spot on in his portrayal of a successful politician who accidentally gets a glimpse of the inner workings of fate. There aren't many movies like this one and that's a sad thing. The Adjustment Bureau is a wild and wonderful ride and it is one you will be absolutely delighted that you decided to take.

well i agree with A Critic saying one of the most smart movies of America that could have been great if was a little bit daring or being pushed a little more but still i loved it. i was not expecting much from it. i was like it might be a dull and boring movie but it was way more than that. very smart and simple plot that really makes your interest level throughout the movie which is great.

well this is a Sci-fi romantic thriller drama. the best thing according to me about this movie is the fact it keeps a perfect balance between Romance and Sci-fi which is rare but great and the way the movie is, thrilling but simple, smart plot and not overly done or much twisted. such a delight to watch.

screenplay of this movie was good, very simple. story was interesting and entertaining and lovely to watch. direction was very good. production design was amazing. costumes were great very posh and stylish. cinematography was good.

Matt Damon was good in this movie. Emily Blunt did a fine job. such a rare movie but a good one. towards the end it got very amazingly entertaining and enjoyable. the door scenes were really good. length of the movie is short.

I saw this at a preview screening. The premise of mysterious strangers controlling our destiny comes from the eccentric imagination of Phillip K. Dick; everything else in the movie is cookie cutter Hollywood fluff. None of the characters are remotely believable either in their everyday lives or in the nonchalant reactions to learning mind bending secrets about themselves and human destiny. What could have been an entertaining and creepy paranoid fantasy instead becomes a by the numbers sermon on the power of "true love" (which seems to refer to the infatuation you experience after spending a few hours engaging in cute banter and rolling in the hay with a virtual stranger). Has a number of unintentional laughs, not the least of which involves a character recounting a skewed history of the human race that ignores everything outside of Western Europe and America. Beyond all the silliness and the immaturity of the script, however, what really surprised me was how lazy it all felt. The performances were lackluster, the tense scenes were boring, the love story was passionless, the fantasy elements pedestrian. Towards the end I thought we might be at least being heading toward something really outrageous, but even that turned out to be a false hope.

Considering all the garbage movie critics have to sit through in a year, it's pretty amazing when a film that's smarter than most hits theaters and makes a bit of an impact. Independent films are one thing, but major ones released by bigger studios are even a bigger deal when this occurs. I think that's one of the reasons Inception was so great. Creativity and intelligence are two things that are usually lacking from blockbusters. The Adjustment Bureau is a film that has a bit more to it than you're probably expecting. Based on "The Adjustment Group," a short story by Philip K. Dick (Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report), The Adjustment Bureau has probably already caught your attention either because you're a fan of Dick's work and/or the movies that were adapted from it.

The film's charm is definitely in its explanation for things. The way the bureau works and how they function is a wonder in itself. You'll never look at a door or a man wearing a hat the same way again after viewing the film. Perhaps the most interesting is Thompson's explanation of how events in history like The Great Depression and The Holocaust came about. The story is very imaginative and different from the norm, which is always a fantastic change in pace when it comes to film. At the same time though, those who like having absolutely everything explained to them will probably be disappointed. The Adjustment Bureau explains enough to get the wheels in your brain turning and leaves some things open to your interpretation, which could hurt someone's overall opinion of the film depending on the viewer.

I've never been the biggest Matt Damon fan. My favorite memory involving him was the Team America parody that he wasn't even involved with, but I think of that "Matt Damon!" line every time I see him on screen. However, he did have strong showings in both Hereafter and True Grit from last year. He keeps the trend going here. David seems to be a guy who was once fueled by speaking in front of hundreds of people and politics, but has now replaced that void with Elyse. The chemistry he has with Elyse, despite feeling somewhat brief, is one of the driving factors of the film. Anthony Mackie winds up being the most memorable bureau agent mostly because he has an emotional tie to David, but John Slattery and Terence Stamp have some pretty noteworthy performances as well.

I have the impression that a lot of people will write this off as a Men In Black ripoff, but The Adjustment Bureau is a bit more clever than either Men In Black film. The films surely have their similarities, but The Adjustment Bureau deserves to be given a chance. I think it'll surprise a lot of viewers.

The Adjustment Bureau is easily the smartest live-action film to be released in the first few months of 2011. With a solid cast, a hefty helping of creativity, and just an absorbing experiencing overall, The Adjustment Bureau is bound to leave a lasting impression when it comes time to look back on the best films of the year. The film leaves you questioning how much of your life is really left to fate and chance. Films seem to leave an impression that lasts longer if it makes you think or strikes a cord or hits close to home in some capacity. This film does that and then some. It comes highly recommended even if you have your reservations about it.

I must say, it was a fantastic movie but my expectations were a little too high but I think that was because I've wanted to see it for so long! Absolutely great story line and fantastically acted. The chemistry between Emily Blunt and Matt Damon worked so well and I don't think I could have found a better cast! It really does give you a whole different perception on how the world could work and it gave me so many inspirations! I definitely recommend! Well worth watching!

The movies plot is that Damon plays a young politician who is facing to become senator but a smear campaign stops successes. He meets dancer Elise (Emily Blunt) on the men's restroom and loses his mind, he must see her again, and he have to reach the political saddle. A team of extraterrestrial Mad Men-old men in pin-striped '50s suits and hats, doing programming of human destinies, and will do anything to keep them apart. They claim that he will fail in his career otherwise.

Adjustment Bureau's major quality is that the film is constantly changing direction - from the political thriller, the love story, the existential sci-fi. It could have been shattered, but the balance is held exactly together. It never gets boring, because you do not know what to expect.
