Watch Original Sin: Can love release our true self? A wealthy Cuban coffee exporter, Luis Vargas, advertises for a US wife; Julia Russell, from Delaware, sends her photograph, but the woman who steps off the ship is much lovelier. Luis marries her immediately and gives in to love. But Julia may not be who she claims: first a private eye shows up on behalf of Julia's sister, then the sister herself. By now, Luis has given his wife access to bank accounts, and when she runs with his cash, he pursues her, with the help of Downs, the P.I., perhaps to kill her. Pursuit may be part of a con game as well, and Julia's past explains some, if not all, of what remains of the story. A priest hears her confession. |

Banderas. Jolie. Sexy, hot scenes. Wat else do u need? lol. But it DID have a pretty good story with some nice twists. A lil slow tho. 8/10

This film brings to light how a lot of marriages were done as an arrangement of convenience and not of love. This is how my grandparents were married in the early 1900's. Entertaining enough as a one time watch.

Banderas and Jolie have chemistry, I wonder why didn't make more movies together. A bit slow at the beginning, but it gets interesting along the way. 8.5/10

This is a different movie for sure, the period costumes are beautiful, but the story did not capture my heart, and I didn't fall in love with it. I guess it is just not my kind of movie. But the acting is superios, and like I said, the period costumes, sets, etc are perfection. 3/5

Angelina never has a stand-in for that. There are multiple movies in which she bares (mostly) all to the camera. 'Taking Lives' is a prime example (and also a really great film in my opinion)

A good script and clever plotline make this a good vehicle for Jolie and Banderas. 4/5 Thank you to the uplinkers, you rock.
