holy shit balls, that IS Daniel Craig... lol, didn't even look at the actors before I chose a link. So. No one has made a comment on this film for over a year, I find that sad and still interesting. Much like this story, sad and interesting. Francis Bacon, one British Scorpio painter of the bizarre and morbid, tormented his lover in the way only a Scorpio could... to his death. I'm not sure whether I need badly to go to sleep, or vomit, as a consequence of watching this. Gay men, ugly women, booze, paint, Jean-Paul Sartre (see: "Nausea") S&M, suicide, and poorly fitting briefs are all come together in this incredibly filmed portrait of an amazing artist and his tortured lover. The cinematography mimics Bacon's work in almost every shot, some even so resembling a painting you can't take your eyes off the screen, waiting for life to move. The acting is phenomenal, and the writing is conversational and candid... you feel like you've lived this experience yourself. SO! Go google Mr. Francis Bacon (not to be confused with Sir Francis Bacon 15th century,) look over a few of his paintings, then watch this film. Its dark, its ugly, its tragic, its brilliant. 10/10
