This movie inspired a generation of young hockey players. there is even an iron league team in Laval Quebec dedicated to the spirit of the CHIEFS. Seen the second and third slap shot movies but they don't compare to the original. A true classic 10/10

Nothing really speical here. A watchable but not great movie.Ending was original but i guess the aim here was to put some absurdity into the game of hockey to amuse people.

love this classic. paul newman, as the player coach, the hanson bros, swoozie kurtz in that hilarious hairdo, strother martin as the teams GM or owner? great movie. watched Goon yesterday and saw alot of paralels to this one with a different twist. i gotta tell ya for a movie that's 25yrs old this is still a better watch. maybe i'm a beleiver that you can remake a classic but you can't replace it.

Just watched this for 1st time tonight and watched Goon last night and have to say that Goon edges it just slightly. i give Goon the edge because there was no dull moments in it unlike some of the newman parts that got a bit boring and took the thrill away from the movie in places. 9/10

Without a doubt one of the best hockey movies to this date. A good source of entertainment and a true classic. 4/5
