McCabe & Mrs Miller: Set in winter in the Old West. Charismatic but dumb John McCabe arrives in a young Pacific Northwest town to set up a whorehouse/tavern. The shrewd Mrs. Miller, a professional madam, arrives soon after construction begins. She offers to use her experience to help McCabe run his business, while sharing in the profits. The whorehouse thrives and McCabe and Mrs. Miller draw closer, despite their conflicting intelligences and philosophies. Soon, however, the mining deposits in the town attract the attention of a major corporation, which wants to buy out McCabe along with the rest. He refuses, and his decision has major repercussions for him, Mrs. Miller, and the town. |

It's one of my all time Westerns Awesome Acting it's very raw and violent just as it was in those days in the Northern Canadian Territories. As this movie was filmed the Carpenter crew was building the Town from scratch. And Altman actually shut the movie and built the Town twice once with and once without the snow. There's a really great story about the Production on Wikipedia. The Carpenter crews were dressed in costumes and used tools that were used at the 19 th Century North. And the Town was built on the screen as the story gets on the comes the snow with only 3 scenes left to shoot. And it keeps snowing and snowing and snowing. So Altman decided it the instead packing up everything and move all the equipment and shit out. They mine as well stay and re shoot the whole thing again with the Snow falling.Only Robert Altman would do crazy shit like that lol.So they did.All the workers,Carpenters, cooks and helpers were hired locals and many of'em were young American that flee to Canada from getting drafted to go to Vietnam,Altman was very anti Vietnam so helped those kids as much as he could. It was filmed in North Vancouver and Squamish British Columbia.5/5 must watch if you're a Western fan.Thanx Cheers y'all
