Very well acted and disturbing content was so realistic it was hard to watch. Reminded me of Sleepers in terms of the abuse visited on the boys in an environment where they had zero control over what happened to them. It is unbelievable what lengths some people will go to in order to maintain power and control over the vulnerable or less fortunate. It is criminal the large number that continue to get away with it.

This movie was so sad and beautiful at the same time. I want to punch those bastards across the face fr doing what they did to those boys. great movie though must see! 9/10 stars

While the film is disturbing in its content, how the story is told captures the mind and emotions. Unforgettable and haunting, this movie is much more than some sad tear-jerking tale. The visuals and artistic qualities are top notch along with outstanding actors. Be prepared to sit back and just say ... wow.

excellent film acting is amazing i actually cry every time

It is a great movie to watch - although was making me angry while watching it. How can people do something like that - to children. I don't get it.

I cried. I am glad I stumbled upon this movie. I can't say much else without thinking I may be spoiling something for other watchers. Top marks from me.

Such a shocking story but so well told . . . a roller coaster of emotions and hard to watch in some places. . . . it certainly shows that given that chance a person can make a difference in others lives. 5/5

Why do people insist on telling us how these movies end??

Such a sad but wonderful movie. Very disturbing, I can't beleive people would do that to a kid. The acting was amazing, the plot rocked. Really good. MUST SEE!!!

This is a harrowing movie that doesn't spare the viewers feelings. Aiden Quinn plays a fine role throughout and the young actors should be applauded for such mature and convicted performances. Easy 5/5 for me.

This is a film that shows even back in 1939, the Church was putting theses mentally ill, child abusers, child rapists and even murders, back into another area, where they continued their sick behavior. It took this long to read and see on the news how theses criminals are still getting away with it, this movie was well done and anyone that has a heart would want theses sick priests to be behind bars. The most recent pope still skates around all that has been brought out and he lets them walk free.

Very good performances by Aidan Quinn and Iain Glen in a story that tears you apart with anger and disbelief....how much of all that still goes on today? I fear much more than we would ever dare to imagine...great movie,4/5.

Devestating film to watch. Unfortunately this is the harsh reality of what happened unknowst to those outside of those four walls. Whether they were blissfully ignorant or chose not to believe it, who knows. I can't see how this film can be judged when it is telling a story that needed to be told and should have been told a long time ago. It is what it is, there is no liking it or hating it-it's the truth.
