I tried sooo hard to like this movie. Just didn't do it for me. The only good thing about the movie (in my opinion) was Merisa Tomei. She's the reason I spent 1hr 25mins watching this. Way below average.

hmmmm, okay.....was expecting something great but didnt have that appeal. I'm totally not aware of the this type of genre of comedies....but it was okay... not something i would see often. would rate the movie 5/10 ... i watched the video #3 freestreamtube - a-8 / v-8.

Was expecting an Outrageous comedy type film, should really be tagged as a comedy/Drama/Romance, besides that i thought it was filmed well, and the acting was good. 7/10

I wanted to love this movie. After watching it, I realized it's not as funny as I expected, given the comedic talent in this movie. On the other hand, I think Jonah did a very nice acting job, he played the "Momma's Boy" role to the tee. John's awkwardness in this movie is pretty comical too, but not enough to make this movie funnier than it was. Probably won't watch it again. 5.5/10

Strange, monotonous..

....a strange way of comically celebrating the otherwise complicated topics involved. Great acting, kind of creepy, drolly funny and quite content to be unlike most stories out of Hollywood. 3/5

I "ALMOST" didn't watch this. I'm SOOO glad I did cus it was very inspiring! I'm currently staying w/mom cus of legal & financial reasons-(long story!). My mom has been single for over 20 years now & she recently met a man from an art coarse she's been taking that is sweeping her off her feet. Rather than be jealous...I've decided to write him the top 10 does & don't/likes & dislikes when it comes to winning her over cus this guy could use a lil help & he's out of practice...lol. I'm gonna give it to him as a Christmas gift cus he's a recent widower who was married for over 50 years & he comes off as sooo nervous/dorky when he tries to talk to me & he doesn't know how to relate to me cus I'm only 38. He actually asked my permission to date my mom...lol...it was sooooo sweet! My momma deserves a good man like him cus it seems so right & it could very well be the last chance for either of them to finding true happiness & some since of belonging & love again!~: )

not even being high off grass will make this movie the least bit funny. I was expecting a comedy after the way they've handled the PR for this movie, but it isn't. I was so confused about what the movie was actually pushing to be, I spent half of it with a vibe that jona's character was mentally-retarded & tomei was to worried to bring it up. This was a serious drama, with some real emotions, but there are like 3 times in the movie where the sensationalized situations & actions border on absurd-but-lightly-comical. Don't get me wrong it's a good movie, but it's not a comedy. it's a drama with 3 clinically diagnosable people (4 if you count the ex-wife), one of which covers his emotions with dark sarcasms. It's like a barely-out-of-reality Meet the fockers.

It was ok, the last 30 minutes is the best part of the movie. 3 out of 5.

This movie is for parents who think their kids are honest, sensitive and caring when really they're deceitful, manipulative, selfish little bastards. Was still pretty funny though. 7/10.

not a single moment did i laugh during this, however jonah hill showed he can be more than just a clown in this film with a decent performance. would not recommend. 4.5/10

dramatic and serious comedy, its pretty cool

I liked it. Alot of other child obsessed movies are corny. This one was funny, and dark. It seemed a lot more real and believable. Sure this is not the typical laugh your ass of john reily, and jonah hill. But I liked it because it challenged them to go outside their comfort zone. Liked this one.

Normally, I'd dismiss so many naysayers, but man, this one did turn out to be a let down, and I wasn't even expecting a true comedic angle. If you're going to make a movie like this, you've got to have more finesse than the director had... you just cringe some, and not in the good, you're supposed to cringe kind of way. I mean, there was a little of that, too, but... 5/10.

Good Movie! Previous comments are correct as far as expectations when seeing who stared in this and then seeing the movie playout! its hard not to see the names and instantly think cornball hilarious comedy, but i felt it still had its funny aspects just in a different kind of way from what weve came to expect. worth the watch for sure
