Amazing- absolutely loved it. Really brings to light how mental illness can strike anytime and affect anyone. Great message. 10/10 better than I expected.

It's a good film. It's well acted from Gibson, Yelchin, and Foster. It's a good look at depression and family drama. With that said, it isn't anything fantastic. Though it is definitely worth the watch. 3.7/5

Pretty good. It wasn't as depressing as I thought it was going to be. Very good acting and I liked the storyline. This is worth seeing.

it didn't get the recognition it deserved.. maybe because of all the anti-semitic comments Mel Gibson made. But w/ it was still a great movie and Mel Gibson is a great actor.

A very moving film about a man and his conflict with his own emotional & mental struggles. A family movie truly meant to show no matter how dark somethings may seem your family will be there to bring light to the dark. 10/10 a must see movie. :)

This flick is very peculiar and at times annoyingly painful. Jodie Foster's meditated view on depression, captured it's essence in a way most of us has never seen. And Mel Gibson's outstanding performance made it quite believable that mental illness is not something to be taken lightly. My reservations about Mel Gibson had to be put to the side, in order to see the true value of this film. All of the actors are great and Foster's direction proved it to be so.... the film engages in honesty and although uncanny, it's warm and charming. O_o

Okay, before people start saying hand puppet, film must be a joke, i gotta defend it and say watched it at cinema, definitely worth the money, one of Gibsons best performances, id go as far as saying oscar worthy + Jodie foster does good job directing and starring. This is not a comedy. Starts of light hearted but gets deeper and darker as the plot progresses. DEFO WORTH THE WATCH

Mel Gibson was better than I thought he'd be and the movie wasn't nearly as strange as I though it would be, So overall I really, really liked it. If you like small, character driven, indie's you'll like this... but even if you don't like those kinds of movies, I'd still recommend it based on Gibson's performance alone (Yelchin, and Lawrence are very good also). It would be a good movie to watch on a slow weeknight, or an afternoon when you have some peace and quiet.

This is a film that tore at my emotions. A very good acting and directing job from the 2 main stars. You Have to watch it to understand it.. Definately a must watch film. The human mind can be such a dark place...5/5

Mel Gibson is an amazing actor! This movie is definitely one of his best. Jodie Foster is a genius! People can hate Mel all they want but the fact is, he is one of the best actors of all time which no thinned-skinned Mel hater can ever take from him. 5/5!

This film was Jodie Foster's gift to her long time friend Mel Gibson. Hits really close to home for Mel in this one and you can imagine that this is exactly what he's going through in his real life. I don't care what anyone says about him cause he's got more hits than misses, more good than bad, and more talent than any other actor in the business. You don't have to like the Beaver, it already doesn't like you anyway.

Deeply serious movie about depression, dealing with it for the person, but more important in the show, were the effects his depression has on his family and the lack of understanding. Not that they didn't try, but that they JUST can't understand 'what it is like' for the person suffering the condition. Well, acted, But very sad, depressing ! 2/5 for overall story 4 me! a sufferer of illness too!

Honestly I was very skeptical of watching this... It took seeing so many other people comment about how good the story was, and a late night with nothing else to watch before I gave in and turned it on. The story was unique and VERY touching. Something that on some level everyone can relate to. I personally think this movie was a major comeback for Mel Gibson, it was the first movie in some time that I think he blew the role out of the water. Definitely a must watch, you won't regret it. 10/10 stars.
