I watched this throughout my childhood and loved it. I recently watched it again after 10+ years, and was just as enchanted with it as I was in the past. It is slow paced at first, but once you fall into the story and experience the beauty, you'll be glad to have watched it. :D

Enchanting classic timeless film that shows the magic of how connecting with nature can help heal the spirit and how children can bring people together in ways that sometimes cannot be achieved any other way.The music is so haunting and various scenery lovely that one can't help thinking it was the perfect combination for this story to be told. Of all the versions out there, this one surely is the best!

I love this movie more and more with each watch! its one of those movies i watched growing up and i still love it! 10/10 everyone should watch it even if they dont like it... which seems a little impossible to me. but you never know! Beautiful story!

Secrets are not best kept sometimes. They are meant to be shared and told throughout time so that others can enjoy the happiness and experice you found. This is a wonderful and thoughtout movie. I read the book as a kid and enjoyed the many movies that were created from it. This version I truely love.

Though in some aspects sweet, it's hard to make my mind about this movie. On one hand, there're these cute kids who find love and friendship, on the other hand is the cringe-worthy racism of the time and abelistic attitudes of the book. You all probably know that one of the main characters is a boy who can't walk. I assumed he was paralyzed, but in the end he nevertheless manages to "heal" himself by discovering his disability might have been psychological. I know the author came from the Christian Science background and I couldn't find anything on how this ideology treated disability. From the book, I would say, disability is seen in the traditional Christian way, as some really bad affliction, that can be "healed" though prayer, in this case, the metaphorical garden.
