so it's not exactly high school musical fun but hey, i think it's what makes it a good movie although the story plot is not that strong but the production numbers make up the best parts of it it shows the little struggles of every artists here and there and the reality and things that actually happen when the curtains go down artists, friends and fans, or whoever you are and whatever you do, by the end of the day, the person you'll be performing for is you and i was expecting something major at the end and heck i got something more and oohhhh, i love the production number at the carnevil part super major! :)

I just went and saw it at the movies. Not nearly as good as the old one, but pretty good.

Seriously, as far as remakes go it wasn't disappointing. In fact, I think it was really well done. It was well cast and the way they pulled all the music and dancing and other scenes together was amazing. I think the problem with all the disappointment is too many people are comparing it to the original, and you shouldn't. Movies like this, Fame, Footloose, and others, have to be remade for newer generations to appreciate and they have to change and tweak it so that the other generations will like it. And I've seen both, I think both are very amazing in there way and in there own time. 5/5

I really liked this movie! I haven't seen the original, so I can't compare the two, but maybe that is a good thing. I urge everyone to try it, at least for the music and dancing =D

I watched Footloose both first version and remake, did the same thing now with Fame - it was time I watched those movies! Thanks to all of you who write comments, it helps make such a decision... Now, about Fame, I have to say I think a mix of both movies would have been perfect. The student characters and the music and the moves and the song Fame introduced in the movie as a creation by one of the students, it all made sense. Though the storyline didnt always add up and sometimes it seemed just like moments added together on the screen. In this remake, students looked all so young and not really grateful or needy to be there, with a aftertaste of High School Musical, the latter being better played. In the remake, I

Despite its hip trailer aimed specifically at its demographic audience, the film just didn't work out, and tried too hard to resemble plenty of dance movies already out there

Some good things..... The singing is amazing... the dancing is as you would expect incredible but over all that's it.

Good gawd can't Hollywood come up with something original. Everytime they make a remake they screw it up. The first "Fame" movie was by far way better than this one. I found this one slow and boring with no recognizeable characters in the cast ..... and the music sucked.
