I saw this movie when it came out in 1976. I was in Navy stationed in Jacksonville, FL and I agree it is a good feeling of being down south. Storywise it has its moments. Jerry Reed as a villian is good, especially some of the scenes where he shows how cold he can be. It has a 70s innocence you don't see nowadays. 7/10 for nostalgia and Burt's mustache.

Great story, and action with a mix of directing that gives the viewer a feel for the south. A tailor made role for Burt Reynolds, which became a high water mark, he never could reach again.
