This grim little tale about a writer in a cabin in the woods all by herself is a remake of a movie of days gone by. That is what stands in the way of making this movie realistic and frightening. Women just don't act like that, from the very beginning, she is traveling alone, goes to the gas station and mocks the guys there and through most of the beginning of the movie, she has a feeling she is being watched, and does nothing about it. She just wonders around this movie aimlessly waiting for something to happen. Her character is so underwritten its hard to believe, empathise or care about her period. The bad guys were well rounded characters and did a much better job at delivering lines than she did. This movie had so much potential , yet it fizzled from the very beginning. Sorry,I am not a fan of this one!

I wanted to watch a movie and I thought this was a good movie to pass the time.wow, what a crazy movie...warning- female and male rape scenes, and very bloody, lots of gore in the 2010 version. But it was much more than that, sweet revenage form those who destory the girl's life. This woman got revenge on men who raped beat her and thought they killed her.It may to be true but its like giving those sickos what they deserve,even though it's inmoral but Karma is a witch. I didn't see the original but this movie(the remake) was great, that I want to watch the original. a little larana bobbit in it to, if you can stand the blood and gore its a must see

This movie is absolutely one of the greatest remakes of all time. If you are into a revenge thriller, this movie is definitely for you. The acting was superb as was all the scene layouts. The older one was a watchable movie, but this one took shape very quickly and kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire presentation.

From most of the comments you'll read on this movie you would think that it's going to be twisted, sick, and an overall morbid experience, but it's really not. If you're someone who watches horror movies all the time and are immune to the worst of the worst, this movie is actually pretty boring. The acting is not ace at all, I feel like me and my friends could have played a better cast. Also, the "torture" scenes happen during the last twenty minutes and that's it. The rest of the movie attempts to lead you there in suspense but like I said, the acting wasn't worth the wait, and the shoddy attempts at humor from time to time were just pitiful. I really was expecting this to be one of those horror movies that you never really see that are brilliantly coordinated but I'm sad to admit that it's one of the cheesy ones. PROS: 1 - The lead actress is beautiful; 2 - the guy who plays Jesse from the first Fast and the Furious plays a pretty big role and he was actually really good; and 3 - the movie wasn't long at all. If it had been any longer I would have just stopped watching it completely. It was cheap and portrayed almost no emotion, I wasn't convinced for a second. I wanted to completely hate those men after watching that rape scene but I just ended up feeling pissed that it was lasting so long and that the terrible hill billy acting during was just busting at the seems with stupidity. The movie The Last House On The Left had a more convincing rape scene and I think that one only lasted five minutes or less. In this case the movie director chose quantity over quality I guess. What a disappointment.

I thought this was a good film overall, not too original but worth a watch. I liked Last House On the Left a lot better though. This film is about injustice and brutality and the sweet taste of revenge. The protagonist is a beautiful young writer who rents a cabin in the woods. She is attacked and brutally raped and the rest is history. I will leave that up to your imagination.

If ever there was a candidate for banning a film it's this. It's not giving anything away to reveal that there's a rape scene in this film but be warned it puts anything you saw in "Last House on the Left" the remake to shame. Graphic doesn't even begin to describe what the audience are subjected to by the voyeuristic intentions of director Stephen Monroe as he puts the audience in the front row seat for almost two hours of pure abuse.

But this is a good thing. Surely rape is visceral, brutal and sadistic and this film embodies all these elements. And once the reported revenge begins it's even more brutal than anything done to her.

Superb and bold performance from Sarah Butler in a role that is probably considered by most to be career suicide. When her character takes revenge it truly is the stuff that nightmares are made of and some scenes made me cringe for at least an hour afterwards.

Watch this one at your peril.This is highly recommended only for those who sit through a showing of cannibal holocaust without vomiting. Strong stuff indeed.One of the few examples of a remake vastly improving on the original.

A realistic depiction of sexual violence and cruelty towards women, reminiscent of the series films of "Death Wish" & "Dirty Harry". The character takes a practical but effective "SAW" like approach into creatively dispatching her assailants in probably the best revenge movie of the year. The punishment definitely fits the crime

I think this film was great it reminded me of the movie called the last house on the left which was a great movie so in all aspects its a worth watch film if your into good flicks... the revenge part is a must see but be sure u watch the whole movvie n not 58:59 mins of it

Everyone was telling me about this movie so tonight I finally gave in and watched it. I hated what they did it was freaking sickening. But I did like how she was messing with Jonny I mean I really wanted her to kill him and the sheriff the worst.

Can't believe it took them so long to look for Matthew. I like how she got them back ssssoooo ssswwweeeeeettttt.

Mind Blowing, Horrific, Brutal...
After being brutally raped, tortured, and left for dead, a young woman later returns to the scene of the crime to extract revenge upon the men responsible. Dealing with each individual one in the same manor of torture they delivered to her.
It just goes to show that karma is a bitch and revenge is sweet. 10/10
