This is definitely a lose adaptation of the book, but overall I didn't think the movie was that bad. I guess that's probably because I had seen the trailer, so I knew what to expect. Plus, slow, artsy movies are Andrea Arnold's MO. I heard of the movie because of the Mumford & Sons song at the end, so I'd been looking forward to watching it for quite some time - I have to say that the song did not disappoint.

I LOVED this book when I was in high school and was excited to see that it was made into a movie, a 2011 movie! but when I saw the comments from others, it disappointed my expectations and so I decided not to watch, hopefully a better version will come out soon?
