Good film!!! Cast, direction, & plot are great. 8/10!!![:-bd]

I kinda wanna see this, cuz they talk about the black dahlia in American Horror Story, but I have yet to really find a good comment about it. :/

not to bad a movie i really enjoyed it bust the story did kinda jump back and forward but worth the watch 8/10

Sadly it not about Liz Short :( More about the cop on he case. I did enjoy seeing K.D. Lang at the club :)

this movie was still watchable but the book gave me a little more life tbh

Brian de Palma was on the top in the 90's, considered an outrageous movie maker. That risky style of his can be seen in this movie too, although the complexity of the adaptation made it smoother than usual. I agree with some of the comments: "L.A. Confidential" achieves what this one doesn't. Anyway, I have fun watching it from time & again. 8/10

I honestly only watch this movie for Mia Kirshner. I like the mood of the film, or rather the time period that it is set in. Besides that, it's quite a bit of a run on. Watch it once on a rainy day, but don't bother wasting money on a purchase.

a shame.. James Ellroy's book is a masterpiece.. and like all his novels... very charcter driven and very difficult to translate to the screen. While Depalma did his best.. I think the casting let him down a bit (look at L.A. Confidential.. while not only a decent adaptation.. the stellar cast pulled it off). The film looks good.. had kinda the right feel.. but seems forced.. I was disappointed.. I know the story and book very well.. found this effort to be seriously lacking. 2/5

This movie was just ok. I thought the story could have been better. The real story o fthe Black Dahlia was interesting but the movie lost sight of that real story.
