I found this movie was beautifully done. The story was a beautiful one, despite the few slow points within it. It's a story of genius and though not one hundred percent believable... it was rather gripping either way. The effects were very well done as well. To say the least the whole movie was well done, good acting done by very good actors. Very enjoyable. 4.5/5

it was an nice drama movie i like it.i didn't get to watch it until the end but i will watch again..its 8/10 really good movie..

I had just watched "the prestige" right before watching this movie (considering they both came out in 2006 and cover the topic of magic i thought it was a good idea), and so maybe that's what sealed my opinion of this movie. And my opinion is that it wasn't very good. They had great actors but they weren't good for the roles that they played, Watching Edward Norton play this role was not very believable. It has a great storyline and all but the movie didn't suck me in and make me forget about everything else going on and cause me to believe that all in the world that mattered at that moment was their situation, and "the prestige" did do that for me. I think because of watching that movie it ruined "the illusionist" for me. Perhaps like if you were to watch "Brave heart" and then right after go and watch "first knight" (we all know witch one is better). a good analogy i guess would be, after you dip you feet in warm water the slightly colder water feels so much colder.

Excellent!! Great performances by two of the finest (and underappreciated) actors of our era. Ed Norton is fantastic but Paul Giamatti is a true master of his craft ............... 5/5.

Truly amazing n outstanding movie which is directed beautifully n it's very captivating. The story is very different n Edward Norton fits his role nicely n hv done it perfectly. Sort of mysterious at times.

Brilliant... only way of describing it... i randomly stumbled across this film thinking it would be boring but it is amazing. This is NOT a spoiler in any way, but one trick isnt explained in any way - that doesnt spoil film in anyway because if you avnt watched it then you have no idea what im talking about until after film finishes :P

I absolutely loved this movie and would recommend this movie to anyone. 5/5 :D
