Watch Semum: Director Hasan Karacadag argues that he tried to create a model of a Turkish-Islamic horror film and that he would make the world recognize this model, of which he sees "Semum" as the first example. "Semum" stars Ayça inci, Burak Hakki and Cem Kurtoglu in the lead roles and recounts the true story of a woman who lives in Izmir. "Semum" will be compared with "The Exorcist" and inci will be compared with Linda Blair, the director says, noting that the Turkish horror films made so far have been far from satisfactory. |

That was pretty decent movie, never have watched any movie like this. not much scary but great storyline a/c Islamic point of view.

Not bad, I was impressed with the lead actress. Interesting tale of possession. Acting wasn't that bad. It is worth a watch if only to see how other cultures view Heaven and Hell.

I found this movie to be absolutely fascinating. The cinematography was superb, much like the old Italian masters. 9/10 from me. Do keep in mind, there is hardly a drop of blood in the film, so if you like to see teenagers sliced and diced, you should probably move on. The depictions of hell reminded me of old Ralph Bakshi animations - very cool.

That wasn't the devil and kissing has nothing to do with culture. I seem to remember they were pretty frisky in bed.
