This is a classic Ghost story!! Admittedly, when I watched it again I had to chuckle at some of the effects, but superb acting and an intriguing story line make this a MUST SEE for all Paranormal enthusiasts! 4.5/5.

I love this movie. It has a great cast and is one of the older great ghost stories of all time. It just might scare you a little, give it a watch.

One of the best ghost stories in a long time. I really like the movie better because the book is so convoluted and had so much gratuitous sex in it that there was little left for the theme. The movie simplifies the book and doesn't add a bunch of sub-themes that were really pretty useless. I do enjoy this movie if for nothing else but that to enjoy these fine veteran actors.

Wow, this movie blew my mind. I haven't read the book, and i didn't have any expectations to it at all, so i was really surprised how good it was. Good cast, great acting, nice storyline, and it is creepy as hell. 5/5

I read this book when it first came out. It was creepy but great. I couldn't put it down. I haven't seen the movie for a long time so rewatching but I seem to remember it was one of those rare good creep shows.

This was a BRILLIANT film. I enjoyed watching it, and wish we had horror movies like this still. If you enjoy things which are unique, and not based on the worn out hack and slash, then this is for you. Felt a whole lot like READING a scary story, and that was probably the best part. Good acting. Outstanding directing. At my side, was a popcorn, and soda. And for that.. I am thankful, to have had been prepared for such an epic tale of these men's fright. 5/5 stars. Prepare for some shivers. Cold water ran down my back.

A really good "ghost story" for those who appreciate real ghost movies, not just your tired overdone slash and hack films. I love the 70's and early 80's era of fright flicks, cause even the film adds to the effect. Like,The Shining, I don't think it would have all the character that it does if it were shot today (digital-aged) 4/5 for the genre.

I read the book and saw this movie back in 82 till this day there both great... Enjoy a good scary flick with good actors...

I saw this movie when I was a little kid and thought it was good. I watched it again all grown up and still think it's a pretty good ghost story for a movie that came out in 1981.
