I have a thing for older movies with Nuclear Subs. in them. This as a classic for sure. An all around great cast of wonderful actors, a lot of thrills,great plot and more than enough suspense!!!

Intense movie, the play script and the acting was good. Watchable again.

I rented this movie right after it came out as an afterthought on a "rent 3 get 1 free" deal at my local video store. I wasn't really interested in it and only put it on after watching the one I wanted, intending to fall asleep to it. Not only did I not fall asleep, I was so engrossed in it that the end credits were rolling before I even realized I needed to answer nature's call really bad. Very intense, rather scary and has 3 of my favorite actors in it. Can't go wrong with this one.

propoganda to condition folk in believing that the ussr had an interest in invading America. America is far more agressive than any other world power. It's like when the Brits made the Boers out to be the scum of the earth during the years of empire. With all that it was a good movie loved it to the last moment. Just remember its just a movie.

How on Earth did we not go to war so many times with this crap system of a captain and his C.O being in control of orders to launch nuclear weapons, I don't know. Thank goodness that in 1996, the control of launching these missiles resides to one man, in the USA anyhow. The movie is one for the history books, it’s fantastically put together and Washington again proves he has the ability of a fine actor and that of the ageing but still top dog Hackman. The movie is scary, as in a way that this kind of thing could have happened and might still happen on other subs around the globe in countries that still follow the old rules, just like this film portrays. The film tries to beat the older film Hunt For The Red October, I say they both have great story lines, but although I give this film a good score of 9/10, the Hunt For The Red October still beats it in performance and screen play hands down.

Denzel is jogging on a nuclear submarine...This movie drags and has plenty of hot blooded sceens for acters rather then an interesting story for viewers. I give it 5/10
