best English version out there; great movie, lots of action, and met my expectations to the core. Love that it follows the comic almost to a T. Would love to see this movie in a part two without D.C. joining along side with Marvel or other comic series. G.L. is a huge story by itself and it has the potential to continue with fresh story-lines over and over again. Love it...............

Green Lantern got a few bad reviews from rotten tomato and other critics but to be honest I disagree. I think what everybody is forgetting is that this was supposed to be a comic book movie, so of course there would be a lot of cgi. Ryan Renolds might not be a first pick for superhero but he pulled it off excellently. The movie is filled with subtle comedy and got a lot of laughs in the movie theater. It isn't like every other superhero movie where the girl is clueless about the guy's identity, so the writer's kept it as realistic as possible. The story-line was good, even though it was a bit rushed, and the message of the movie was nice as well. It might not have been worth a three hour wait at the movie theater, but it's a definite must see.

This movie was pretty good not to mention that for being out in theatres for only a week, the copy was excellent. It's Packed with lots of action and of course just a touch of romance. Make sure that you watch the movie all the way till the end until you see the credits start to roll. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give this movie an 8.

I have never been a fan of the Green Lantern, pretty much have never heard of this character compared to the more popular ones seen in movies over the last decade or two. I watched this movie with an open mind wanting to enjoy it despite the many friends who did not.

I was very impressed with the overall story and character development. I prefer this style of character building over a movie that just starts with the character doing their thing. I was able to learn what a Green Lantern is, how the main character came to be, and then watch them do what they do. Perfect!

My only complaint was that the Green Lantern character was supposed to be able to do anything they put their mind to. The overall ideas and basic thoughts this character went through was pretty weak. I found my 6 year old yelling out, "Why didn't he just...". Hopefully the next movies will push the limits a bit showing how creative a human can think and how these thoughts can make for a much more insane experience!

In the end I am now a fan of the Green Lantern and will be in line at midnight to watch part 2!

Ryan Reynold proves himself to be a great actor in this film. great movie from beginning to end, met all my expectations. kept in accord with the original cartoon and comic book. bought back memories of youth. loved the aliens. i give this movie all the credit it deserves with a 7/5 of 10.

oh man! it was exactly as i thought it would be. from the trailers it looked like a very bad movie. even the Special effects didn't impressed me and then i saw the reviews and they were terrible. but i still wanted to see it for the obvious reasons.

to be honest this movie looked like very cartoon-ish to me, it was like some Original Cartoon Network movie of the Ben 10 or something. it was so badly made and just looked like a B movie. this is one of the bad superhero/ summer blockbuster movies of the past. but seriously, there are worse superhero movies than this one. Critics are very harsh on this movie and i can understand why? but the are a bit too harsh.

this movie had so much silly parts, corny jokes, shaky plot, bad screenplay, bad comic book adaption in general, bad special effects, some good action fighting moments. trust me it is no Batman, Iron Man or Superman. i feel bad for this Superhero, they didn't do good justice with him. for the sequel they should get a different team. it already was a lesser known hero and now people will hate him thanks to this movie.

Director Martin Campbell directed the best Bond movie Casino Royale and the other good one Golden Eye alongwith a well reviewed The Mask of Zorro. his other movies were bad, like Vertical Limit, Beyond Borders, The Legend of Zorro and Edge of Darkness. he directed this movie with i don't know what vision, i hated this movie for being a bad movie. he should not direct 2nd movie. he wasn't good as a director. Screenplay was badly written too, too much weak moments. plot was again shaky and very uneven. story was nice but too much cliche. badly written.

oh and the visual effects weren't that good. i hated them literally. some nice action and fights but not much and that is its problem. there isn't much in the movie. movie is weak and not strong. Ryan Reynolds gave a wooden and unlikable performance and he was hard to imagine as a superhero. miscast. Blake Lively was good in it, i liked her. she atleast tried to give some output which was really nice. other actors were Peter Sarsgard as villain was awsome. Mark Strong and Tim Robbins could have been better. and other actors were okay.

this movie was badly edited as well. many bad moments with less good. i was bored for many time throughout the movie. it may give you a bit of nice time or popcorn entertainment but this movie is a badly made movie that disappoints alot.

Just a so-so movie that relies a lot on the special effects . Enemy is ridiculously weak and too easily defeated by the end when you think of how it could defeat so many other Green Lanterns . Story line was a little draggy , more talk less action .

If you only want to see explosive , mind-numbing graphics . Don’t watch . If you come for action-packed , hair-raising stunts . Save your time . But if you appreciate a light self-discovery and self-sacrificing movie no matter the form . This is for you .

Critics were way to harsh on this one, but the only reason it was ripped apart by critics is because they compared it to X-Men First Class and Thor, which is completely unfair, but I ain't a critic.

This film is actually really hard for me to rate. There are definitely things that needed to be better in the plot and story, but I can't pinpoint what exactly needed to change. I think the main problem with the film is that it just didn't mesh together, especially the beginning. The story just didn't settle all the way is a good way to explain it. Also, the film didn't tap into emotion, which it really needed to, especially since it's a crucial idea to the character and story.

I liked that cast alot more than I thought I would. I was hesitant about Ryan Reynolds, but he was great here and completely likeable, as were Peter Saarsgard and Mark Strong. Blake Lively is also really nice (and hot).

The fighting was entertaing and the CGI was pretty good, definitely nothing special.

Overall, Green Lantern is an average entertaining Superhero film that works. I recommend it!

Green Lantern lived up to some of my expectations, however I did expect a lot more action. Therefore I am looking forward to seeing the sequels as the character has already been established. Let's face it, they've already shown us who the bad guy is for the next one!!! I'll give you three guesses!!! Thats right... got it in one.

All in all a nice bit of acting and yet another hot chick caught by the Super Hero!!! ;)

Better than I thought it was gonna be, but doesn't beat the Marvel films. Reynolds did OK with what he was given, tho. His costume was the best part lol. Entertaining, but 1 time watch I think. Kinda weird for Angela Bassett to be in it with such a minor role, too. I love her in most stuff. I think it would have been better with sticking to just the stuff on "Earth" and doing all the "Lantern Corps" stuff in a sequel so the "big finish" wasn't so cheesy, and kept a little mystery to it for later, cause all the CGI characters were a bit much. 6/10 for me.

I had my doubts before i even watched the movie but i found the movie very watchable.
It had some good effects nice action a little romance the typical good guy and villian the cast was good wasn't overall buzzing with the story line didn't have anything special.

when it comes to marvel movies this defently isn't close to being one of the best of them but certainly worth a watch.

After reading a handful of bad reviews i went into this expecting a giant pile of turd. Now granted I don't dislike many movies. Everything has its good qualities. And I have enjoyed several recent movies that others have disliked. That said my expectations had been seriously lowered going in and well, it wasnt as bad as I expected. The movie had somewhat decent acting across the board. Nothing great, just good enough for what the actors were given with. The movie relied heavily on CGI for its otherworldly Corp Members and settings. These were not bad just a huge chunk of the movie. Up against both Thor and X-Men First Class the movie had little to no deeper story. Both of those two movies this summer had a bit more going for them story wise.. There seemed to be some parts that did feel a bit rushed.overall though I enjoyed the movie.

Of the available green heroes, the Incredible Hulk, Kermit the Frog or even Al Gore seems more likely to carry a movie than Green Lantern. But the third-string DC Comics character has nonetheless been selected to hold the super-being turf at the world’s megaplexes for a few weeks, between “X-Men: First Class” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.” “Green Lantern” is capable of doing that, although it’s neither amusing nor exciting enough to ensure a long-running franchise.

I really like superhero movies and this for me was one of the better ones. I tend to be aprehensive about superhero movies where I don't know much about the superhero but this was really good. The action starts pretty early on and you don't need to have any background knowledge of the green lantern to enjoy this.
