There is no real plot to this film, just a whole bunch of character studies, which I found completely enjoyable, since all the characters are really quirky. It felt as if some of the scenes were completely improvised, which is quite refreshing. I've watched it at least three times, as there's so much character crammed into this film I always miss something I didn't catch the previous times. 5/5

If you don't like this kind of movie, don't watch it. You'll think it's very boring. I don't really think it has a good plot, I understand why this movie isn't very famous. It's all filmed in the same light, which is kinda annoying in my opninion. I didn't think it was a very good movie. Loads of singing, too. Was kinda surprised by Meryl. Lindsay can sing pretty good aswell! 6/10

I listen to the radio show so I was already a fan of Prairie Home Companion...I loved the movie so much that I went out to buy it...in case you don't know what the show is go to PBS or NPR and click on Prairie Home Companion and listen to the show...and you'll love it as much as I do
