NEVER read the book.REALLY liked this flick,tho.Took FOREVER to watch,FINALLY found a link that worked(you tube).

This is one of those movies that is stupid but sooooooo funny.Its one of my all time favs.I used to drive my dad crazy,all i wanted was to watch this movie over/over again.A really good/stupid movie.

Such a great film. Captured the essence of the book just right even though there were so many differences. For those who don't know this also aired as a radio and television series in the UK and I just loved the fact that Marvin the Paranoid Android from the TV series appeared in the queue on the Vogon planet and the Arthur Dent from that series appeared as the disembodied head with the 'welcome' greeting on Magrathea. Oh, and for anyone looking for any deeper meaning in any of the plot line - just read what Douglas Adams had to say about it, namely... The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke... I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do'... further describing his choice... 'a completely ordinary number, a number not just divisible by two but also six and seven. In fact it's the sort of number that you could without any fear introduce to your parents'.

the movie has several flaws, but it's hard to make a film based on a 600-page book; overall, great book, good movie.

i just watched yet again and must say this is a winner no matter what mrgreed and river dog say. mr greed don't take it so seriously this is parody at its best. and river dog nothing will satisfy you, some things are timeless, such as this film, regardless of dated effects, i.e. star wars (not 1,2,3,+6. so sad), and the effects are quite good in this show. this is in the vein of films such as brazil, the gods must be crazy, and countless monty python skits and movies, not to mention others i forget. great show, and pay attention! 10/10 don't forget your towel!

9/10. This is an often overlooked film that I think deserves more credit than it received. I very much enjoy this movie. It has a very cool flow to it. The story mixed with the cinematography and the actors natural way about how they played their characters just breeze you right through it. You can always tell when an actor really understands the role they've been given, and all the actors in this movie exhibit this. It's a movie that adults and kids alike can enjoy all around, a family movie, if you will, yet you hardly even notice that fact while watching.

dope only that red headded bloke is so annoying,so wrong for this movie and ugly aswell. the rest is awesome.

clearly you need to learn to take a joke. thats why its called science fiction its not real they wrote the book and made it into a film for entertainment nothing more.

Finally got around to see the film. It's cute, but I still prefer the BBC series (though low budget that it was) - and Simon Jones, who played Arthur Dent. He's in this film also as the hologram message.

This movie is wierdly hilarious. I watch it at least once every couple of months. Great movie :D

This is the closest book-to-film movie I have ever seen. They don't divert much from the five Hitchhiker books and what would take too long to include, they completely cut out instead of changing for the benefit for the viewers. I love that about this movie. It wasn't created for leisure watching, it was created as a hook to get people to read the book (in my opinion anyway). I love the movie but the book is funnier :) I rate the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy 5/5
