Excellent movie..My best friend and I went to see this at at theatre when it first came out..The very best coming of age movie....I recommend it highly . 9/10 Worth a watch

I read the book years ago and loved it.. I didn't even know there was a movie until I ran across it several yrs ago when renting old movies..Funny thing is, the book was written after the movie instead of the movie after the book..But the book was still better as usual.. Don't let that stop you from watching this wonderful movie. It will move you.

what a gem of a drama and it was well done and scripted. this is one of those keepers. 2 thumbs up.

A touching coming of age story based on the memoirs of Herman Raucher and a summer he had spent on Nantucket Island in 1942 at the age of 14. Fantastic film, i can't recommend either this or Raucher's book of the same title enough.

I have always enjoyed this movie,I think there was a more innocenet time when teenagers had no clue about sex or love and this movie shows us a small glimpse at that losted innocent time that Hermie and his friends grew up in.The music says volumes when words just can't describe the feelings that Dorothy and Hermie are going through and with one tear running down his cheek so much is stated without uttering a word. 10 out of 10!!!!!
