it wasn't that bad for a low budget movie but i understand your point tho,that it is nothing compared to the animated series.

the whole thing was insanely predictable. i nver rly got into the whole dragonball thing but if i didnt like this... well : only parts i liked was whenever they got their asses pwned.

this movie is okay as long as you keep an open mind about it instead of comparing it to the cartoon. I think there should be a sequel with Goku turning super saiyan

Despite all the negative comments, I thought the movie was alright and I'm a fan of the DBZ cartoon. If you base this movie on the anime series, then you'll most likely be disappointed. Watching this movie without any high expectations and it isn't too bad. 4/5

What the hell was that??! I can't believe I even sat through that. Wanted to turn it off within the first two minutes, no joke. And Geeko? REALLY???!!!! Kakarrot never even went to school. That's why he's such a moron. haha Ah man, what a terrible movie. And I thought Yamcha was annoying animated. At least they got Kame-Sen'nin being a total pervert right. :D Dirty old man. I missed his crazy turtle shell though

never watched a sigle one of the cartoons or read any comics or played any of the games, NEVER! i hate animie and knew i would hate this movie and that is why it took me this long to watch it. however i did atch it for 2 reasons, 1. i was realy bored and had atched almost eveything i had wanted to watch, and 2. i am a huge buffy the vampire slayer mark and the guy who played spike in it plays piccalo in this (james Masters) so i watched it. i can honestly say having no knowledge of the universe that this is sit in and of the charecters and any for of back story about it, they did a good job trying to bring it to a wider audience. i take it from all the post on here that they did poorly at sticking to the cartoon but having never watched the cartoon i actualy kind of enjoyed the movie. the action was pretty good and the guy that plays goku is not bad at all in this. speaking to all the people who are not familer with the DBZ universe but like action/sci-fi movies, you should give this a shot, it asnt that bad at all. 4/5

dragonmaster you for this factor they should have at least a hidden anime while within that project of making a anime to real life film and they can just their knowledge about the characters then once they got the funding for the project they can make the film exactly the anime show

the biggest joke in history. 1) goku has a tail in the first season, wich is partly the reason he transforms in Ozaru. 2) the full moon makes him transform, not some stupid eclipse. 3) WHERE IS KRILLIN ??

6/10: Assuming i have never seen the cartoons/anime. I thouhgt this film was rather bad - getting past the specdial effects the acting was cr*p, the fight scenes un-interesting and the story really unjointed. Like one part where they couldnt get across a lava lake (where did it appear from in first place) then he found away across.. and some one else was there>> how did they get across? Was too cheesy, and predictable. Now if i had seen the anime>>i just didnt match up.

I never watched Dragonball Z. Thus I can say I totally enjoyed the movie. Though corny and awkward at moments, it has a nice pace, a fun storyline and decent fighting (at times). The special effects are very nice as well and didn't bother me once or struck me as surreal. So I'm going to give this movie a 8/10. Just don't go in here with the idea of the manga and anime in the back of your mind and you should be just fine.
