The first one, "MALEVOLENCE" is MUCH better, and thank GOD i watched that first cause this one would have made no sense whatsoever otherwise. This is basically just showing why the dude from the 1st one ends up the way he does, and it's a clever origin story, aside from the lack of any real reason for the main psycho dude's reason for being so fucked in the head, unless they made a prequel to a prequel... LOL... one of those ideas that was probably awesome in the writer/director's head but translates only partly. Kind of like a Red Dragon meets Texas Chainsaw remake feel to it, and beautiful cinematography. There were 2 moments when I was caught off guard and went "OH SHIT" but not enough to make up for the bleak long waaaaaaaaaaaay too drawn out "filler" crap that is supposed to I guess make you "feel" for the characters but in the end nobody cares, you're just glad to see the puppy make it out and the cameo by the cop from the 1st one at the end. Twisted, sick, and unique, worth a one time watch I guess if you liked the 1st one but I was more bored than anything else. If you like lots of running, blood, torture, learning how to build an addition to your house and to rebuild an old Camaro, with a creepy little boy then go for it. Bleak ending, I hate movies that end with that weird emo music and leave you feeling like blah, hopelessness, despair, blah. I like rock em sock em take no prisoners shit, like the first one, so watch and make your own mind up I guess. 6/10

Despite the negative comments, I decided to watch this movie and I'm glad that I did. I was actually impressed with this film. It kept my attention, though it wasn't really a horror. I think it was a psych thriller more so. It is a pretty twisted film and the kid plays his part very well. I placed this movie in my "who Woulda Thunk?" and "Mighty Good Show" playlists and I think I'm gonna give this film 6 out of 9 lives. It's a different kind of film, which is why I think most didn't enjoy it so much and it does leave you asking questions. However, like with all movies, I suggest that you give it an honest chance and see what you think. MEOW!!!

I've been waiting for months for this, and I'm a little disappointed. The movie is 1hr 47min, I feel like if they cut 20 minutes out of that and had more focus it would have been much more enjoyable. It's an interesting movie because of the boy's special circumstances, I've heard of his condition before, and I got real excited in the beginning....def had potential, but fell short for me.

Crazy film. There is no dog being killed so don't listen to the people saying that. Overall I give it a 5/10.

An ok watch but if you are a fan of this sub-genre of horror you could probably find yourself something better to watch. They seemed to focus on the killer's delusions rather than his actual kills which just made it odd rather than creepy for me. 6/10

Disappointed me. The storyline is great but how they set everything up... That was the horrible part. The action, drama and sometimes acting was terrible. Could've been a good one, but this time; no, it didn't work.

Too long. The Sutter character was badly played and i felt that if the story had have been tweeked slightly a better movie would have been made. Trouble with these type of horror movies is originality. Sutter was just another Ed Gein clone and its been done to death (Pun intended).

Didn't really care for this one. It was okay for a one time watch. It could have been so much better, feel as if the story line was a good one but they just didn't do it justice. It dragged in some parts and I also felt that there was a plot hole here and there. Acting was all over the place, some were very good and some were just bad. By the way, NO DOG DIES!!! 6/10

Okay, I made it through the first 40 minutes then decided that my time would be better spent doing something else. Seriously. The movie had decent production values, but the script was weak and the acting left a bit to be desired (I've seen better acting from my cat after he gets caught knocking over the treat jar). I'm sorry, but the movie was boring. Screaming starlets and Michael Biehn looking stern just can't make a movie worthwhile. And Alexandra Daddario needs more experience if she is expected to carry a film in the future. Not a complete waste of time as long as you have nothing better to do.

well...this film as far less blood and gore than most horror films...the acting was somewhat weak at times and had a poor ending,oh and no animals suffer in this film..worth a watch to pass time..2/5

I thought this movie was creepy. Watched it with the lights off and had to turn them all on when the movie ended. Great horror flick...BTW keep watching after the credits or else you will miss the actual ending.

One, never let someone else's opinion of a movie make your decision for you. Two, no dog gets killed in this movie. Three, as you can already tell from the description of the movie a boy is kidnapped and made to witness grisly murders..... do you consider that child abuse? How important is that factor to the entirety of the movie? Is the movie about the kid or the guy who kidnapped him or someone else? You'll never know if you don't watch it. And yes it's sick, but then again if you don't take "sick" and "twisted" from the description of the movie above, then maybe you should decide on what other people think.

This is just not a good movie, i had to stop watching after probably 20 minutes. I like a good thriller but i do not like blood and gore all through the movie. I to can not watch an animal be hurt so hey i say goodnight all. There are some who will really like it if you are into that kind of movie then for sure go for it.

Not such a great movie. Acting wasn't too hot with some of the actors and the plot was all over the place. A lot of gore if you are interested in that but I would pass this one by.
