Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town -- a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes. Paul is directed by Superbad's Greg Mottola, from a story by Pegg & Frost. what a absolute entertaining movie it is. i had this strange feeling about this movie that it will turn out a good movie, which it did. it is a very good hearted comedy. very funny geek comedy with aliens and some action. cast was so diverse. no doubt the most entertaining good movie of this year till now.

ofcourse not actually a performance based movie but i like this so diverse cast. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Kristen wiig, Jane Lynch, Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver, Bill Hader and other familiar faces.

screenplay was kind of well written and smart script. plot was good. action was very much few in it but very good and quite accurate. paul make up or visual effect was good. editing was good too.

this movie has language in it which i loved, lol. very funny and laugh out loud scenes in it. i really liked watching this movie and had an absolute good time. enjoyable movie, Do watch it guys.

'PAUL': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (the comedic acting duo that starred in the two classic Edgar Wright films 'SHAUN OF THE DEAD' and 'HOT FUZZ') re-team for this loving homage to 70's and 80's sci-fi films. They also wrote the screenplay. Greg Mottola (the director of 'SUPERBAD' and 'ADVENTURELAND') directed the film. Seth Rogen co-stars as the voice of a stereotypical looking little green alien nicknamed Paul. Paul is sort of a raunchy adult version of 'E.T.' and Frost and Pegg have said the film is a "love letter to Steven Spielberg", who has a cameo in the film. The movie also co-stars Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Joe Lo Truglio, Blythe Danner and Sigourney Weaver.

Pegg and Frost play two sci-fi loving British geeks who travel to America to go to Comic-Con as well as take a road trip tour of all the famous American UFO sighting locations. When a car crashes in front of their rented RV, and they go out to investigate, they meet Paul and discover he needs their help. Paul has been doing government work for the US ever since he crash landed here 60 years earlier. When he discovered they wanted to dissect him, and get what else they could from him, he made a run for it. Now he needs these two reluctant heroes to help him avoid capture and make his way to a rendezvous point with his mother ship. Along the way they enlist the help of a religious fanatic motor park owner (Wiig) while avoiding three obsessed FBI agents (Bateman, Hader and Truglio).

The film isn't at all what I was expecting from it. It's kind of a serious sci-fi action film at times and it has great fondness and love for it's comedic subject material (that's what I most liked about it; the film quotes and references are perfectly timed crowd pleasers). It's best and most frequent jokes are all very subtle and aimed at sci-fi nerds that inspired the lead characters as well as the film. It doesn't make fun of these people, or the movies they love, but instead pays tribute to them, in a humorous but heartfelt way. There are plenty of dick and fart jokes as well, to keep other audience members entertained too, and like I said there's some really cool action scenes and special effect sci-fi moments also. Mottola's directing is once again top notch and Pegg and Forst's script is almost flawless. It does start out a little slow but it builds and continues to get better and better (which is the best way to pace a film in my opinion; you don't want to blow your wad in the beginning). The film has a strong classic 80's feel to it and would have made a pretty cool kids film (like the ones of that decade and I grew up on) if not for all the swearing. It's the perfect sci-fi geek movie tribute, comedy done with respect!

The alien was pretty funny and once I realized that the stars of this film were the guys from Shaun of the Dead I had to see it. It's pretty fast paced and they all run into some crazy adventures. The alien is funny in that he is down to Earth and having been here awhile has picked up some earthly habits. Let's just say that not all of them were good habits. It's worth watching and some of the atheistic puns in the movie are funny as hell.

This is my favourite pegg and frost film. The plot was kinda pedictable but still made me laugh throughout. The cast was great and seth rogens voice as paul was also awesome. The script was extremely funny aswell so all together this movies is one of the funniest ive seen i a long time.

What a good movie, it is fast paced ,funny and it seems to spoof every other alien film ever made. The cast is chock full of nuts and the story line is easy to follow. The special effects is great and it is quite clear that the Alien "Paul" is the true star of this film. There are so many references to other things, that the movie has a chilling familiarity that makes the audience wish for a part 2 . Two best friends on a trip to Comic Con and other various sites, come across an adorable,, down to earth and pain in the butt alien , that we all cant help but to love. Soon they are running from the feds, falling in love and trying to get their new friend to a safe place where he can hopefully be able to go back home.great fun for the whole family, even the cursing was funny. So get you hands off your junk and watch this terrific movie!

The movie was cute. It was not as funny as I thought it would be. It was a unique twist in having the Alien/Paul be rude and act like someone that has been living on earth for many years. It was a little boring at times and not enough action for me. But I would give it a rating of 6.5. The ending was predictable.

What a great fun movie.The premise could have been a disaster in the wrong hands,but Pegg and Frost deliver a strong script and impressive characters.They play the two sci-fi nerds without insulting sci-fi fans,which could have easily happened,and the characters are easily likeable.Paul is undoubtedly the star of the movie,and his character provides some great lines and comic moments.The film moves along at a good pace,has a fair amount of action,it doesn't get bogged down in the back story,and the effects compliment perfectly.The direction can't be faulted,and shows a very good understanding of Pegg and Frost's vision.At the end of the day it is simply a very good,entertaining comedy movie made by two guys at the top of their game.

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, who also double as screenwriters which i had no idea till the end , play geeky British tourists who rent an RV and scout out UFO landmarks in Nevada. Soon they are joined by an escapee alien (PAUL) from a top-secret military base, Paul, a scrawny alien who, after 60 years on Earth, just wants to get back to his own planet. Hot on their trail are federal agents (Bill Hader, Jason Bateman, and Joe Lo Truglio) of varying degrees of cluelessness LMAO. Outstanding and funny performance had me laughing through out the movie ...ive watched this movie 3 x E.T meets Cheech and Chong hahahaha it has everything from a great and funny acting casts that brings imagination, action and adventure, also enjoyed the affects I LOVED IT...definate worth another watch hahaha I rate this movie 5/5 STARS!!!

This movie was absolutely hilarious! Simon Pegg usually plays the same sort of person and it usually bores me but he cracked me up in this one! I honestly recommend this if you're up for a laugh! An honestly fantastic film and I told all of my friends about it and I'll continue to tell people about it because it's so awesome!

I have to say this film is so funny. I had thought about whether or not to download it for ages but now i dont know why i hesitated. Its got good British actors in it along with a reasonably good american ensemble cast. To me the films underlying question is where do we come from - God or alien descent which i thought was quite interesting. The special effects were also very good as it really looked like Paul the alien was actualy there with the actors on screen. You should really take the time to download or watch the film as you wont regret it.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's new film is a goofy, amiable piece of silliness, perhaps inspired by their own ecstatic experiences visiting the Comic-Con convention: a nerd nirvana. The problem is self-indulgence and a distinct shortage of real gags. They play a couple of British sci-fi fans touring the US in a rented Winnebago, taking in the sacred sights of rumoured UFO incursions and cover-ups.

How disappointing, I enjoyed Shaun and Hot Fuzz and was looking forward to this. Simon Pegg has been in some terrible stuff lately.
Perhaps they should stick to their British roots

From the pop culture orgy of Channel 4’s Spaced, to zomcom Shaun Of The Dead, right through buddy cop satire Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have made a good career out of geekery. It helps that they’re funny, and likable, but in being passionate about cult subjects often derided, they’ve become champions to many passionate about the same things.

More than anything the pair have made prior, it’s these people for who Paul offers most. The film begins at San Diego Comic Con, then weaves through the Extraterrestrial Highway and a host of genre cameos therein. The film also contains the best Star Wars joke ever made by anyone ever, as well as a late on cameo that’s as inspired as Zombieland’s mid-section. Of course, the danger of making a movie about befriending an alien is that for every E.T. there are ten Mac and Me’s. That’s no issue here: the stars passion for sci-fi – good, bad, even Mac - makes the film zing with fandom.
