allways liked this one alot 5/5

I thought this was an incredible film. I am only puzzled how I haven't heard of it until the last few years. Not only does this film harbor a great cast of intense actors, it also brandishes the directorial debut of Michael Mann. The visual effects are stunning particularly for it's time period. The story was unique and captivating, crossing too many genre boundaries to mention. All topped off with a soundtrack and effect track care of German electronic group Tangerine Dream whose music always felt like it belonged in this kind of film. I am a huge fan of films from the 80s, particularly horror/sci-fi and this easily belongs on my top ten list of best films from that time period. I only have two negative comments about this film; the sound was poorly mixed and overdubs can be heard clearly with headphones which can be distracting, and (as with many of these types of films from the 80's) the ending seemed rushed and a bit anti-climactic but nothing a larger budget could not have fixed. I give this film "The Keep" 8.5/10 Peaches easily...

All around Classic well worth anyone's time to watch.

a alright movie however I like to know what's the background of or history of "the monster". maybe the book gives more clarity but for me I was to preoccupied but trying to figure out the story than enjoying it. 2.5/5

A really good dark and atmospheric horror movie made all the creepier by the soundtrack performed by Tangerine Dream,7/10.
