Well crafted comedey of a young man and how he's survived in a world invested by zombies. Decides to pack up and leave and meets 3 survivors that sort of help him stop bieng scared shitless. Great movie for any zombie movie fan and anyone that enjoys watching a nerdy boy become a man

Very good Zombie movie. Great comedy. Liked Woody Harrelson. It was good to see him. The others cast with him were real good. I love the whole twist on this Zombie movie. I thought it was fun and intense in some parts. 8/10. I like that now a days the zombies have more smarts, which make the zombie genre more interesting. A must watch. Enjoy!!!

Loved it. Woody was epic Gave it a 4/5 stars very close to 5 stars, The comedy was hilarious and the zombies was still enough to make it a horror flick. the rules was the best part for me its definitly a must see will watch it again and will get the DVD for my Zombie Collection.

This film was a fun ride all the way through. It's lack of scariness(non existent) and *GASP!* gore is more than made up for with the constant flow of hilarity and likable characters. This is by far the optimist's zombie film, as the way things play out are definitely different than any one thats come before it. It has a sleek, very modern sense of style-just watch for how each rule makes it's appearance/reappearance and a good message on the importance of others in the worst of times. I recommend this to anybody who has a remote interest in comedies, zombie/end of the world flicks.

Zombieland is hardly a plot-heavy and dramatic masterpiece, but it IS very, very funny, and not funny in a way you're used to seeing in a comedy.

There are very few jokes made, the humor is more from people doing things that people might normally do, just filmed very well in a humorous fashion.

Oh, and the movie has lots of zombies and other awesome stuff that surround this entire idea of having every situation be the biggest "What the frack?!" you can possibly imagine.

The small cast was obviously having a great time when they made it, and all four characters did a very good job of fitting with the style of the movie.

Lastly, while the whole movie is hilarious, one scene in particular will have you in fits, one of the funniest single little scenes I've ever seen. But, no spoilers here!

Arguably one of the finest horror comedies of all time is Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead, and since its release in '04, there have been a good number of wannabes. Based on the trailers for Zombieland, however, I thought that the film had some serious potential to match Shaun in terms of quality, possibly even usurp it. Having seen the film, I'm happy to say that Zombieland does just that.

Unlike many comedies in recent memory, in which the majority of laughs are already provided by the trailer, Zombieland is filled to the brim with laugh-out-loud moments, thanks largely to the brilliant cast. Eisenberg is awesome as the main protagonist, Columbus, portraying that sense of vulnerability and awkwardness, without becoming too Michael Cera-like. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are also terrific as the sweet, yet tough Wichita and the more-mature-than-she-seems Little Rock, respectively.

The real stand-out performance, though, is Woody Harrelson as the Twinkie-lovin', zombie-hatin' Tallahassee. Next to that of Woody Boyd on Cheers and Frasier, this is definitely the best performance of his career. There's also a painfully hilarious cameo appearance about mid-way through the film that would be a crime to spoil. Suffice it to say, this is – hands-down – the best cameo that I've ever seen in a film.

The most surprising aspect of Zombieland, to me, is how much heart there is. All of the characters feel warm and alive, and what drama there is to be found feels extremely sincere. Ultimately, you feel invested in the story and the characters, which – I think – is the most important thing any film of any genre can do.

Zombieland has instantly become a horror favorite of mine (comedic or otherwise). The – for the lack of a better word – quotable dialogue, consistently hysterical tone, and endearing characters, all come together to create a film that will undoubtedly become a cult classic.

I caught a sneak preview of Zombieland with a friend and was impressed to say the least.

Zombieland has to have one of the flashiest openings in memory. There is no subtle build up. You are dropped right into Zombieland as Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) begins listing the rules to survival. Of course each rule gives you a hysterical example of why the rule is in place. Anything that has been taboo for horror films at one time is met head on. I won't list each as not to spoil the movie but Zombieland has a unique ability to make almost anything seem comical. This includes the fact that for some reason it seems that every zombie in Zombieland has a blood belching problem. Literally every zombie has blood spewing from their mouth. This is captured best in the intro as you almost feel like you are supposed to have the 3D glasses in place.

Columbus is funny enough with his phobias and geek lifestyle that proves to be what keeps him alive but it isn't until he meets Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), that things really kick into gear. Harrelson seems to have been born for this role. He has more one liners than any character in recent memory. Each line is typically vulgar but even if offensive it is near impossible not to laugh. Let's face it, if you are completely offended by language or blood then you aren't likely to be sitting with a crowd watching Zombieland in the first place.

A little romance is thrown into the mix when Columbus and Tallahassee come up on Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). For a zombie comedy I thought Eisenberg and Stone actually had decent chemistry. Not that much time is dedicated to romance but what is there comes across as sincere and lets us watch as Columbus transitions from geek to hero. Even without the romance the girls are an important part of the chemistry of Zombieland. They help to even out the brawn and the brains between the four characters.

Zombieland has a simple story. The guys are loners. Columbus with the simple mission to stay alive and Tallahassee with a never ending search for any and all of the remaining golden Twinkies left on the planet. The girls are sisters who are trying to get to an amusement park in CA where they believe, or at least want to believe it is zombie free. A small part of the film feels like the movie Vacation with zombies. The comical trip with a destination which you can just feel isn't going to be what the characters hope for. Like Vacation it shows that the journey is far more important than the destination.

The biggest moment of the film has to be the mystery cameo. I'm glad I didn't know who it was and I won't spoil it for anyone else. I will say that it was brilliantly written into the script. PERFECT! It really goes to show how much they focused on getting Zombieland to be a top notch flick that should go down as a horror-comedy classic to remember. It will certainly fit alongside Shaun of the Dead in my movie collection.

Zombieland is a great movie to watch, I would recommend to all! It shows Columbus has lots of fears and as he meets people he gets close to, he seems to slowly overcome them, overall the best zombie movie that I have watched! Great comedy! Intense at certain parts but very good acting and script! Overall 10/10

One of my favorite movies over the past 10 years. It's Smart, funny,well acted, and has that blood and gore consistent with the quality you expect in zombie movies. Its a fantastic movie that I am known to watch anytime I'm bored or see it on. Great Movie.

Since George Ramero, zombie movies has filled the spectrum of its genre. So do you want to be afraid? Do you want to laugh? By now there are innumerable zombie films. The cream rises to the top. Zombieland will fulfill your every zombie need. The blood, the Gore, moments of fright and then sweet sweet satisfaction of blowing the SHIT out of undead cannibalistic murderous Zombies that wont stop until either your brain or its brain has been destroyed or eaten. You wana have a good time, watch Zombieland. For true film goers, Zombieland is that breathe of fresh air that sits next to Shawn of the Dead, Leslie Vernon and other films that accomplish the Frightened Laugh. 5/5

The thought of killing zombies and what not actually sounds really fun to me. Besides the cussing this movie is a really good and funny movie. Not to mention the violence, which by the way is one of the best parts. There are also some good roe-models I guess. It's a good 4/5 movie! Really loved it.

Ruben Fleischer's "Zombieland" is a playground for those wild and inventive enough to keep alive during a zombie apocalypse and have a damned good time while doing it. Columbus played by Jesse Eisenberg is essentially a double-barrel shotgun wielding version of Michael Cera who lives by a strict list of rules including the Double-Tap rule 0r shoot twice for good measure rule and the Stamina rule, never get fat, for the fat people were the first people to get turned into zombies during the outbreak.

Along his travels on a desolate highway he meets Tallahassee played by Woody Harrelson who is essentially a good old southern boy who makes zombie killing damned fun. His rule is Enjoy The Little Things like speeding up when seeing a zombie in the road and opening the car door to smash the zombie. His life before the apocalypse amounted to little, but in the wake of human annihilation he honed his skill as a zombie killing hero with an insatiable appetite for hostess twinkies.

What I love about this film is the awesome slow motion usage in the film, who knew that being chased by a gang of zombies could look so good in slow motion? The opening credits are a montage of zombies chasing after people, including a zombie stripper chasing a poor Joe down with boob tassels a flailing. In slow motion one gets an intimate look at the details really put into the costume and make-up artist's work on the zombies, nothing like seeing a decomposing zombie puking black blood in slow motion. There's nothing like realistic looking zombies and what I enjoyed more than anything is that with the slow motion there is not that much C.G.I. used in this film.

The C.G.I. usage in horror films can sometimes make or break a film, what is the worst part of Alien 3? That stupid ass looking C.G.I. runner "alien" that might as well be a shiny computer with teeth coming after people. That doesn't happen in Zombieland, there are small instances of C.G.I. leaving most of the fun in the hands of a country boy wielding a sawn-off hunting rifle going insane killing zombies like it was his first video game. That kind of action without the molestation of film with mass C.G.I. is the kind of fun I want and got. The way that C.G.I. is used in this movie is inventive and fun, every time a rule is presented that one of the survivors of the manwich armageddon live by, it pops up on the screen, with visual example of what the rule means. Aim, fire, even when the zombie looks dead, aim and fire again is the Double Tap rule which pops up on the big screen. Which leads into my next love of this movie, the surprise star cameo appearance that had me laughing like I had not laughed before.

The surprise cameo appearance in this film was so incredibly unexpected that when it happened I was laughing hysterically for the way that they had woven the star's Hollywood status into the film so well filled with nostalgia. I will not say who it is, but his portion in the film had me laughing until I was crying, it was really that good. References to previous films and crazy fandom displayed by Woody Harrelson. The cameo appearance itself is well worth giving the film two huge thumbs up it was so funny.

The only thing I could say I had a problem with was the brevity of this film, standing at 81 minutes long this is a short but densely funny comedy/horror film that needs no praise from me to be damned good and a truly good time.

I give this film two bitten off thumbs up out of two for being the first zombie movie I could say "This film is zombie killing fun for the entire family," it is the kind of comedy that everyone could laugh at. In the way that Shaun of the Dead had fun with the nerdy characters in their film, Zombieland shows the fun and inventive side of killing zombies and the what it would be like to kill your neighbor.

this is a funny movie thats for sure. i loved most of it why does he get jacked by a little girl though shouldnt of been the older one? the most funny part i liked was the roller coster part he just kept killing them while riding it was awsome

Short Version: Zombieland is Shaun of the Dead’s crazy, funny redneck cousin

on’t kid yourself going into Zombieland: It is a VERY gory movie. So if based on trailers and commercials you’re expecting just a funny, goofy film, you’ll be in for a surprise. On the other hand if you’re a fan of the zombie movie genre, you’re in for a great time.



Zombieland is about a couple of guys trying to get by after the zombie apocalypse. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a shut-in, introverted geek with a fear of clowns and Talahassee is a nothing-to-lose, redneck badass who’s finally discovered his gift in life: Zombie killin’. Oh - and Talahassee’s one burning goal is to find some Twinkies so he can satisfy his burning craving for them.

Columbus has managed to survive because even before the zombies took over he didn’t like being around people and was very paranoid. He’s developed a list of rules for surviving in a world overrun by zombies, and the first few are highlighted hysterically in the opening minutes of the film. Among them include Rule #1: Cardio - it goes back to the old joke about not having to outrun the bear, just your buddy. He notes that “fatties” were among the first to go after the zombies took over because they were easy to catch. Other rules include “Beware of bathrooms” (you don’t want to get caught by a zombie while on the toilet) and “Always double-tap” (two gunshots, whacks with a blunt object or blade to be sure the zombie stays down).

There are a few additional rules sprinkled throughout (he has over 30) and they’re used to good effect.

Then we have Talahassee, who you’ll like immediately - he’s apparently taken the situation in stride, no, strike that - he actually seems to be enjoying it. His favorite thing to do in the world is to kill zombies. He’s travelling in a Cadillac Escalade, armed to the teeth, and you’ll get a kick out of the creativity and gusto he uses when dispatching the undead.

Our heroes meet Wichita and Little Rock (Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem. However part of their survival has included not trusting anyone, so things are sketchy between both pairs for quite a while.

Eventually they end up in Beverly Hills, where they pick up a “Map of the Star’s Homes” in order to find a certain celebrity’s home where they can relax for a while. There’s a great cameo in the film and I won’t spoil who it is. Soon after the girls head to an amusement park in the LA area so that Little Rock can have at least a little childhood fun, but things take a sour turn, requiring rescue from the boys.

As I mentioned in my “Short Version” this is a lot rougher than the only other recent zombie comedy I can think of, Shaun of the Dead. That one had more of that dry, Brit humor and at times was scary than this film (this film really wasn’t scary at all, just gory).

Amazing movie that kept my interest as well as my girlfriends interest the entire time. I love the slow pick up of the movie as well as the wonderful on-time quick witted comments. The blood and guts were done surprisingly tasteful and the brief on screen apperence of Bill Murry was great. Over all I recommend this movie to everyone.
