I adore this film, a very impressive piece of art work.
The chemistry between the two young actors is so pure and strong, it just leaves me bewildered. Two desolated and unhappy individuals befriend each other in a harsh and cruel world. Only she is a vampire with the body of a 12 year old child, but about 65 in actual age. The drama is written all over it. The entire film has a feel of bewilderment, an awareness that no matter what you try, this cannot last. I can really appreciate the realism within the surrealism. It is like the theme of vampirism has been launched into a new realm, has become part of the social drama. I find it most praiseworthy how this has been achieved without losing any credibility. Innocence is the word that keeps running through my mind. This film, to me, is about innocence and the fragility of it.

I'm tellin ya, this film, though a terrific look at the evil in all of us presented though a merging of "Romeo and Juliet" and a reversed-gender-role "Dracula," it contains an underlying metaphor for the damage many people suffer and hell endured for that first, "true" love.

If you forget their ages, you have Owen, a male who is completely inexperienced concerning matters of the heart; and Abby, a female who, though appearing young and innocent, is well versed in matters of love (the old man who hides in cars started where Owen did). Their relationship evolves from curiosity to a secret friendship to him aiding and abetting her most evil deeds. She is partly pretty and vulnerable; until she wants something. Then her insatiable hunger turns her into a ravenous, bloodsucking half-demon. She drives away all the males she sees as competition (the metaphorical bullies) and eventually Owen leaves the disaster created by her to care for her, in the process abandoning everything he's ever known. Fast-forward fifty years, Owen is out "putting dinner on the table" (albeit the blood of small-town folk) while she sits at home, barely touching him, and daydreaming of the cute guy next door who reminds her of who he used to be. I love this movie, but if you look deep enough, I think the writer may have some deep rooted trauma from his/her first love.

This was very disappointing for me. Iheard a lot of buzz about it but it didn't meet my expectations, I found it down right boring. The last thirty minutes or so were more eventful but getting there was a trial for sure. This is basically a coming of age story but they throw in a vampire girl to make it different. I hope the Swedish version is better.

This was an intensely interesting movie. The acting was phenomenal, especially on the parts of the two main characters of the story.

The young boy was played convincingly enough to evoke a series of emotions ranging from pity to distaste and concern.

The young vampiress was also convincingly played, though the character herself was a little unbelievable in some aspects. It is hard to believe that she doesn't understand the concepts of certain events and objects in the world if she has been around for quite some time. If nothing else, she would understand a few premises.

The storyline was wonderful, and there was just enough of the old time vampire mythology to make it a satisfying replacement for the new vampire craze. This was a frightening depiction of the way that vampires were seen decades ago before all of the "Bram Stoker's Dracula feat. Keanu Reeves" glorified vampire craze. It was a refreshing blast from the past.

The graphics were fairly impressive considering the small amount of intense action in the film. There were moments where it was a little much, though it wasn't terribly over the top.

All in all: 9/10 because for some reason the character of the vampire girl seemed to be a little inconsistent with the amount of time she was supposedly alive.

I personally ADORE the original film- Tomas Alfredson's chilling "Let the Right One In" (2008). I consider it one of the best vampire movies i have EVER seen. Not just because of the gender revelation in it, that left (even) ME in a state of eyebrow-raised confusion (if you have seen the original, you know what I’m talking about). Apart from a few minor variations, the story remains unchanged. Matt Reeves (director of Cloverfield) has laboriously remade the Swedish film almost frame by frame, even down to Owen’s hair cut! However, he fails to add anything new to an already spine-tingling masterpiece. "Let Me In" offers very little for fans of the original. Why? Well, because "the original film was about as perfect as you can get within the genre. It had perfect tone, great acting, and beautiful visuals" (IMDb) . The story is about an enigmatic, bare-footed, strange smelling little girl, Abby (who happens to feed on blood for survival) and the unique relationship she forms with an awkward boy, Owen. The lonely, undersized boy suffers daily at the hands of his bullying schoolmates. Owen could use a friend. A sweet, pure and innocent Romeo and Juliet story. What I really liked about both movies (this and especially the first one) was that they made me side with the film's monster. There was no evil behind any of the killings, just the need to survive. There's a lot of blood and gore (which is always a good thing) in this American version. Kodi Smit-McPhee (“The Road”) , is believable, but i mostly enjoyed Chloe Moretz (“Kick Ass") who managed to nicely balance a young girl’s innocence and a several hundred year old vampire’s confidence. This might not be as good as the original, but i have to give it credit for being respectful of its origins. “Let Me In” is of high quality for what it is (almost note-for-note remake) and WORTH seeing. Reeves has Americanised a superlative foreign film without polluting it.

What a great vampire movie. Very dark and ominous. The characters are very good and the story is like none other. Excellent actors make this an exceptional movie. The same atmosphere as original but with a hollywood style quality. Simply put, watch the movie. You will not be disappointed that you did.

well here comes the remake of a classic and one of the most scariest, creepiest and darkest vampire tale LET THE RIGHT ONE IN which was a Swedish film that not just me but everyone that have seen it absolutely loved it. its a horror romantic drama thriller about a vampire girl and her friendship with a bullied young boy. its very bold, smart and extreme fun to watch movie, i was waiting anxiously for this movie to watch and i finally did. i would say it is a good if not better remake. it looks and it is good the way it is. good job.

My favorite HIT GIRL lol Chloe Moretz is back yaay, she is just fantastic actress, she really looks very matured and a fine lady even in this age, i am so looking forward to her movies and her acting performances in the future and i know she will rock it. she is superb in this movie. good looking and charming. good face expressions and co-ordiantion. she is good. and yes Kodi Smit McPhee was the best choice for this character. 100% made for this character, he did a fantastic job in it. other actors like Richard Jenkins and Elias Koteas are decent too but these two are the main characters in it. they steals the show completely. good performances.

very good direction, i am impressed. screenplay is perfect very good, not slow or boring very engaging. no empty or hollow. plot is very good, love it, simple but very heavy. extremely creepy movie. the make up done for when Chloe's character shows her eyes and else as she feeds is very scary, loved it. very bold, bloody scenes. i love these kind of movies so much. some scenes in this movie were really jaw dropping and filmed with a unique and good style. the whole dark cold environment that have been created is very good, very creepy and scary. good cinematography. an absolutely delight to watch this R rated vampire flick with young characters in it. the romance or friendship that goes between them is terrific.

this movie has extra ordinary visual details and good performances and the music is great too. very gritty and chilling movie, it kept me to edge of the seat even concerning slow moving plot which is not boring or tiring to watch at any place. interesting, fun to watch and creeping entertaining movie. a well made movie. the scariest movie of the year. mind and bone chilling horror drama thriller. MUST WATCH.
