Glad I watched it again. Love it!

Beautiful and multi-talented Reese Witherspoon is perfect in this role. Although being from Mississippi I may be bias, but I definitely know how it feels to come back home.

You think she's psychotic for wanting to get to know more people, have a career, make money, etc? You wished that a character would be murdered simply because she fancied a change of pace in life - this is far more disturbing than the "dumb bride" in the film. Anyway. I found the movie to be OK, but it's not the greatest Romance I've seen. Whilst I wouldn't go nearly to as far as to call her psychotic, I did find the female lead's actions to be rather unfair; played down by an unrealistically accepting ex when she finally chooses between her childhood sweetheart (I would have liked more of a back story about them) and her city-life fiance. I didn't find any moments partcularly amusing, which was a shame. Having said this, I enjoyed it overall. No faults with the acting (although, more than one character annoyed me, which is never good). You'll probably like it if you're very into "chick flicks". Only 5.5/10 from me, I'm afraid.

this movie was really good and reese looks good in any movie. lucas did a great job also. i'd watch this one a few more times no worries. worth watching.

i can't stand chick flicks. normally. but i absolutely love this film! the story and the whole idea behind it is something i can relate to which is probably why i like it so much. reese is one of my favourite actresses too and josh lucas is FIT in this film.

Didn't like this movie. Total chick flick with too much sympathy for psychotic women. If it had a happy ending, like the dumb bride getting thrown in a lake and drowning, I might have enjoyed it more. A couple of slightly funny moments. 5/10

I love this movie. Shows you what you can do with some ambition and luck. Reese Witherspoon does a great job in this movie. I love Candance Bergan's character the best.
