I waited on this movie with great anticipation and for me it was well worth the wait. It was an excellent female action flick and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a strong and plausible enough story line. The cinematpgraphy and lighting was lovely. I loved the location choices. Acting was good and funny when it was awkward. Fighting direction could have been better. Some of the action sequences were disappointing because the lack of contact was seen but all in all it was good. This was a wonderful challenge the the young actress and definitely an excellent choice to showcase her range after the lovely bones. Plot progression and the exhibition of the child's sometimes unconscieous inner conflict was excellent. The pacing of the film could have been faster but I assume it lends itself to a more realistic rhythm.

So, what did you think? I loved it when I watched it in the theatre (drunk) with my friends, but I was badly let down when I watched it again here. The story didn't really stand up to two watches, Bana is a robot in the film, and some of the scoring was a little kitsch for me. I was so excited to see this movie, but now I give it 8.3/10. Still pretty cool.

On the surface Hanna might appear to be another run-of-the-mill espionage thriller about unknown identity and revenge, but dont be fooled. At its heart Hanna is a dark fairytale that has a lot to say about violence in society and human nature. Those expecting fast paced action will be disappointed, as Hanna is more akin to A Clockwork Orange then a Borne film. The soundtrack, locales and camerawork create a disorienting atmosphere that frequently mixes reality with a dreamlike vibrancy and strangeness. The action is sporadic but surprising (and quite gritty for a PG-13 film), and the cast and acting is topnotch, (Tom Hollander in particular stands out in his role as a German sociopath). Hanna is unlike anything that has come out of the mainstream in quite some time, and is undoubtedly one of the best films of the year.

Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) is 16 years old. She is bright, inquisitive, and a devoted daughter. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a soldier; these come from being raised by her widowed father Erik (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of North Finland. Erik has taught Hanna to hunt, put her through extreme self-defense workouts, and home-schooled her with only an encyclopedia and a book of fairy tales. Hanna has been living a life unlike any other teenager; her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. But out in the world there is unfinished business for Hanna's family, and it is with a combination of pride and apprehension that Erik realizes his daughter can no longer be held back.

ok first of all wow, this movie is directed by Joe Wright who directed two of my favorite movies, Pride and Prejudice and Atonement. i love those movies but this one is pretty different from those two. it is a spy thriller, really modern type and very different and stylish type of filmmaking, an artistic suspence thriller. direction is pitch perfect and he knows how to make this kind of movies too, he proves it with those thrilling unique action scenes. liked his direction in this movie. perfectly written, good screenplay that could have been slightly better but still good. story of this revenge and spy-chase and before that the training you might have seen in movies but trust me this one stands out as different and effective movie that you won't even think for a while that its cliched or something, its unique. cinematography is excellent with so much of varying locations that looks stunning and lovely, superb work by them. art direction costumes etc lovely. editing again is perfect.

the action fighting scenes are superb and pretty satisfying well done action suquences. Saoirse Ronan outshines in this movie and she may shock you with how well she is in this movie, just pure perfect. this talented teen actress does those physical action sequences so well which is superb, two thumbs up for that. she did a good job as a teenager who has lived a life like no others, trained by her own father in intense physical training to fight and to be a perfect assassin only living in a isolated place and not seeing the actual world but as she finally comes in the actual world how she sees everything is what is interesting to see. Hanna's father played by the wonderful Eric Bana, you won't see much of him as this movie belongs to Hanna or should i say Saoirse Ronan. but still he did a good job. then there is one of my most favorite actress Cate Blanchett who did a nice job playing this evil arrogant villain in this movie. other supporting cast including Olivia Williams, Jason Flemyng, Jessica Barden , Tom Hollander and Jamie Beamish. so perfect casting and nice performances.

movie is a wonderful satisfying entertaning enjoyable movie. at provides that high octane entertainment and the stylishness you would love to see. movie has a nice pace, it starts slow but then gets fast. also it had a nice score by the chemical brothers. i liked its many scenes but the one towards the end with Hanna and Marrisa are one to remeber. it is a good fantastic movie to watch and one of the best this year. Highly recommended. awsome.

Loving anything Cate Blanchett stars in, here is another to add to my list. The young star in this film (Saoirse Ronan of The Lovely Bones) really knows how to be an action star. I love films where young girls know how to kick some ass. The plot was actually pretty good, but a must watch and attention given to fully understand. I do not feel there were many holes in this plot, just needs more attention than most films. Great movie! Would recommend and re-watch.

The pace at which the movie goes is fine. The artistic aspect is also fine. The background music is contemporary, never heard anything like this before. To enjoy the music of HANNA, its like having champagne or caviar. You need to develop a taste for it. The end, however was a bit too abrupt.

Just OKAY. This was not the best movie ever. It has its kicks and turns but not really all that exciting. It was hard to keep watching as my interest was not kept by HANNA. If your looking for a GREAT MOVIE this would not be a good choice. However if you just need some entertainment and are bored , this could be a good one for you.
