I must admit i've never really known much about tintin? so i watched this film solely on the basis of the trailer and the fact that steven spielberg and peter jackson were involved and also because i thought my daughter would derive some entertainment from it! damn good yarn? a definitive yes! if you still possess a certain childlike sense of adventure like i do,then grab your kids and sit down to this rollicking adventure,which i might add features some truly stunning motion capture animation that is totally flawless.but this is what you expect from master film makers like spielberg and jackson and boy do they deliver! In my eyes i kind of see jackson as this generations spielberg in a way,so the pairing of the two is nothing short of genius(they collaborated on jackson's The lovely bones also).like i said before this is a good movie that i throughly enjoyed and the same with my daughter;she loved it! it's proper boy's own adventure stuff! a solid decent film with good storytelling and some very entertaining set pieces and might i add a kind of indiana jones feel,that stays lingering throughout the film which probably lies in the context of the film's style and time period.other than tintin and his faithful k-9 companion snowy there are many interesting characters lurking throughout the film and all of whom are voiced adequately by some top notch players including:jamie bell,daniel craig and regular jackson cohort,andy serkis! who more than likely provided motion capture as well,as he did on king kong and the lord of the rings films which jackson helmed! apparently a sequel is planned to go ahead with both jackson and spielberg on board,which is good news if this film is to go by! so if your in the mood for adventure,gather your family round the box and prepare yourselves for the adventures of tintin,you won't be disappointed,i guarantee it.
