Pretty entertaining I must say. They better make a sequel or this one won't make much sense. 8/10

For those still confused about the reboot, Sony loses the rights to make spider-man movies if they don't make at least one every 5 years. Raimi and Sony couldn't come to agreement about Spider-man 4 so they had to reboot with a new director/cast or lose the rights back to Marvel.

I enjoyed this film much more than the previous Spider-man movies. Great character development, plenty of action, and the actors/actresses(exception of Sally Field) actually seemed to fit their character.

this is a good movie.. you should definitely watch it.. as of right now.. only the first 2min 20sec has no volume.. and then for about 30sec music a little garbled.. so don't be shunned by previous complaints about no sound.. :)

decent enough reload. casting is pretty good. emma stone is a fox. liked that spiderman actor actually looked like a high school kid. toby was a bit too much like a small 30 year old acting like a teenager. my rating: C+

i sincerely doubt that, following the comics is always the way forward. you actually KNOW its a hit and a good storyline whereas if you re-hash some random shit its most likely gona fail

I think that this spider-man has surpassed the previous three, everyone was perfectly cast for this.

I liked the tobys movies better than this. But this was way better than spiderman 3! But an electronic web?!?! isn't that why spiderman IS who he is :S. It was ok when you think about the parts separately but as a whole really didn't like the movie.

For once I'd love to get a movie where the scenes AREN'T cut into... The fight scene at the school was cut short as almost all good fight scenes are from a movie... Other than that, great movie.

I like this Spiderman movie a lot more. Better story, I like Peter's character more, and I love the acting and cast choice. The only thing I preferred about the other ones were the villains. 5/5 -- awesome movie, way better. Loved Andrew Garfield, better choice.

I like this movie a lot better. Andrew Garfield made a way better Spider-Man. I like how they didn't portray him like such a dork, wearing vests and anti-social-quite-like. He was smart, kind, and caring towards other people, but not so much to himself. He constantly smiled which was awesome, it showed his personality, and he wasn't scared of anything even if he knew in the first scene the bully was stronger than him. Yes, the older one with Toby wasn't bad, but this was better

I think this movie has better acting, story-line and is more entertaining. Better cast choices (older Aunt May is better though.) The older Spiderman may have had more of realistic villain, just a man in a metal costume flying on a flat metal board with engines, but overall this one was better because of the aspects I stated above. the key to a successful comic movie is the villain. this movie fails because the villain is just a cgi mess. they should of used a cross of practical and cgi rather than just 100% cgi thats what they did for doc ock and it worked very well. the lizard in this movie is just a lifeless cgi mess!! come on now everyone say it with me CGI MESS!!! one more time from the back! CCCCGGGIIII MEESSSSSSS!!!

pointless movie, just another version of the story we already know nothing new here, sure hes a better spidey but the villain was just a undeveloped mess they clearly spent all their time getting parker right and just threw in the lizard for the hell of it with no real research or vision of what the lizard should really be like. the swinging scenes are cool and the way spidey fights is cool but weve already seen all that before so all we have here in comparasment to the old movie is a better parker which was a no-brainer anyway as any actor could do a better job than toby duck face maquire. sorry but the way they did lizard was really bad and people really need to stop saying its a good movie just because garfield was better than maquire and think about the story. the story and villain are a huge part of a comic book movie and the story of lizards bio toxic gas was total garbage and the lizard had no character depth at all - back to the drawing board im afraid guys

big spidey fan but gotta say this movie is lacking one very very important thing that not many people are noticing or at least mentioning and that is....THE VILLAIN!! the villain is what makes the whole comic or movie work and the makers of this movie failed to deliver a great vilain. i was exited to see what they did with the lizaed he is one of my most loved foes for spidey but was let down big time. they did not show the lizard as an alter ego to dr conners and just had him turn into a constant maniac instead which was a big mistake because one of the most interesting aspects of spidey vs lizard is that peter needs to stop the lizard but at the same time make sure hes ok because dr conners is still under there which is why the 2 characters needed a much closer relation ship before they have their new powers. all i got from this is that they were fighting carelessly just for the hell of a fight scene and peter just kept going on about stopping lizard rather than saving dr connors from the lizard. the movie still has a lot of good points but i cant let it slip that the villian sucked its such an important element that can never just be overlooked. also lizard did not even look that good, just a big cgi monster that looked nothing like dr conners, if it still resembled dr conners features when in lizard mode that would of worked much better as the 2 did not seem to tie together leaving an empty feeling for the character overall. watching the movie i felt like the lizard could of died at any point by peters own hands and no-one would care that dr conners peters close mutual friend in the science world just died also! and last the story of lizard was just stupid! the whole bio toxic lizard gas thing was just silly and far fetched and was all resolved too quickly, the whole lizard story for that matter including the finding of the right formula and the transformation was done too quick for anyone to invest in the character and care, spidermans story was slower and this worked well to get us to like and care for the character so at least they got spidey right. im just hoping someone reads this and agrees as it seems a lot of people nowerdays seem easily pleased with just some good action/cgi scenes. thats not enough for me in my opionion the bad far outweighs the good for this movie :(

took me this long to find the perfect sentiment. it is unfortunate that the masses will never understand the risk they took by going in this purer direction.i am equally impressed with the more " real" look and feel that it has as he is swinging and unique, truer-to-comic moves and escapes. So good in fact it made the cgi lizard look out of place in this more "old-school" wire effects feel, like when Lucas went back and f88ked with star wars a new hope adding those blatantly new/sleek cgi characters...graffiti on a grittier,deeper film from a different age. but like you said, up against the "toby" films its not just like comparing apples to oranges... more like comparing oranges...to orange flavoring. this was by far and away a better film than the others.
