This was actually a cool, fun movie. I can't stand Megan Fox but she was really good in this. Amanda Seyfried is way hotter than Fox and a much better actress, I'm glad the focus was on her. It was funny seeing Adam Brody as a hip, emo lead singer when he was such a nerd on the O.C. This is not a horror movie, it's a dark comedy. If you go in with that mind set you should enjoy it.

It has been some time since I've written a review on this site, but I felt this movie and its current underwhelming performance at the box office warrants some good press. "Jennifer's Body" is a very entertaining film, and is sure to be one that many discover in its DVD release, which according to interviews, director Karyn Kusama has material she is anxious to release.

Make no mistake, JB isn't an Oscar contender, then again, it's not trying to be. It is attempting to throw the viewer into a world of heightened teenage brutality, and in that it succeeded. Diablo Cody, who seems to draw a love her/hate her reaction from audiences, writes a script that perhaps has one too many pop culture references or quirky word choices. But, that is Cody's world. Why say someone is good looking when you can say they're "salty?" It may not make a whole lot of sense, but Cody captures "teen speak" in her dialogue and it is a lot of fun to watch her characters say such unusual things with such ease and normalcy. Cody's writing is what separates this film from other "evil-teen" horror films. Also impressive is when Cody is able to create some genuinely sincere moments between the characters amid the violence and chaos occurring.

This film does not apologize for its odd premise nor does it try to compensate for it. JB plays it straight, recognizing the plot is entirely superficial. This premise doesn't hold the film back. The plot throws enough fun details in the mix that drive this film forward, making it a fantastic platform for the starts of the film, obviously the cast and Cody's writing.

About the cast: As Jennifer, Megan Fox is quite great! Not only does she have the looks to support her character, she creates a girl you love to hate. Jennifer is the ultimate high school goddess, but underneath the sexy exterior and projected confidence lies a tortured soul...physically personified by the demon within her. Fox is sexy when she needs to be, but wrecked when it calls for it. One short scene has possessed Jennifer, disgusted with herself, smearing makeup across her face in a very desperate fashion, desperate to hide her insecurities from the world. It is an impacting moment. Fox is another love/hate personality these days who draws just as much backlash as praise. Say what you want about her prior efforts, but Megan took charge of her character and was creative with her.

Amanda Seyfried stood against Fox well. Naturally, Fox is a force to be reckon with these days and Amanda, playing the gawky, nice girl who hides her beauty, holds her own. The girl can act, and also creates a very sympathetic and relatable character. She manages to create some very humorous moments while being natural. Her admiration for Jennifer is quite clear and Seyfried manages to capture it nicely, without making the character seem obsessive.

The guys in the cast, most who are present so Jennifer can have a meal, are each unique. Props to Kyle Gallner who disappears in his emo-goth role. I had only seen him in the bland "Haunting in Connecticut." Adam Brody, who plays the lead singer of the band that sacrifices Jennifer, had a lot of fun with his role. He creates a character that is so selfish and evil, but seems like a guy who would be fun to have drinks with...if you knew he didn't want to kill you.

Finally, Kusama's direction is swift and competent. She captures the film well not overusing horror techniques and keeping the look of the film fresh. The film's soundtrack is also offbeat and unusual for the genre, but is filled with some great music. The song sung by Brody's band, "Through the Trees," has a great rhythm and lyrics. It's the sort of song that if actually released would undoubtedly be a chart topper.

Is JB the best film you will see all year? No. Is it the worst as many have been claiming? Not by a long shot. JB is different. It's star has been the center of a media obsession. JB is taking the brunt end of this. Behind the harsh criticisms of reviewers who seem to be shifting their disappointment lies a very entertaining and well-made film, despite its subject matter being quite superficial. Forget what you've heard against it, forget what you were expecting. If you like horror, Cody's style, clever films, character films or any combination of the above go see Jennifer's Body. This film deserves a better box office. I for one would like to see more films like this made, and that will only happen if people go see them. Make it happen ya'll.

Jennifer's Body is a Good film, I would not really call it a horror movie but it was still good.

It was a good story line and it was quite orginal.
All the actors were really good, espically the main characters Jennifer check played by Megan fox, Needy Lesnicky played by Amanda Seyfried and Chip Dove played by Johnny Simmons.

Over all I would give this movie a 3/5 it was good but not good enough to be 5/5

This movie was absolutely awful.
They tried to make it funny and scary..it was rarely funny and never scary.
I feel like the girl teen angst thing was exploited, used as the main plot device when never delving into anything deeper than "Clueless" snappy comments and snide remarks, which would have been ok if the movie was at least a teeny bit scary.
As it is, the scariest thing about this movie is that some people actually thought it was good.
That's truly terrifying.

FHM Sexiest Girl Megan Fox zoomed to fame with her lead role in the ''Transformers'' series, but her new movie, ''Jennifer's Body,'' will surely not help forward her career. This is written by former stripper Diablo Cody who scored a hit as screenwriter in the hit indie film ''Juno'' about teenage pregnancy. The director is also a woman, Karyn Kusama (''Girlfight,'' ''Aeon Flux'') but all the girl power they muster fails in coming up with a fairly decent movie.

It opens with Needy (Amanda Seyfried of ''Mamma Mia'') in jail and, in flashback, she narrates what happened to her and her best friend from childhood, Jennifer (Megan). They're opposite poles as Jennifer is the hot, sexy type with an attitude while Needy is the geeky wallflower type whose boyfriend, Chip (Johnny Simmons), also looks nerdy. They're all in high school, but they all look more like their 20 somethings. Jennifer takes Needy to a show one night to watch the gig of a struggling rock band called Low Shoulder. Jennifer quickly tries to seduce the cocky lead singer Nikolai (Adam Brody) who Needy thinks is a turn off.

The club burns down as the band performs and everyone runs out. But it looks like it's the band who caused the fire as they want to take credit in rescuing members of their audience later to help them get out of the burning building. For this, they get some publicity. Instead of going home with Needy that night, Jennifer chooses to join the band in their van.

Needy wakes up in the middle of the night and sees Jennifer looking like an other worldly creature who throws up so much gooey slime on their kitchen floor. Soon, strange things start happening in their small town, with men being devoured by a strange monster. It turns out that the band killed Jennifer to Satan as a virgin sacrifice for their career to hit big time, but since she's not really a virgin anymore, she turns into a demon instead who has to eat men to maintain her good looks.

Needy doesn't know how to help her best friend who eventually becomes her foe when Jennifer picks Chip to be her next victim. Jennifer senses this and comes to Chip's rescue so the film's climax becomes a showdown between the two friends. The movie's biggest problem is its makers don't know whether they'll make it a horror film or a comedy-satire on teen angst. In the opening sequence, Needy declares: ''Hell is a teenage girl.'' The trouble is both Amanda and Jennifer no longer look like they're teeners, unlike Ellen Page in ''Juno'' who's credible as a high school student.

Cody won the Oscar for writing the screenplay of ''Juno'' but looks like that's more of a fluke as her script in ''Jennifer's Body'' is a hopeless mish-mash that tries to be campy but smacks more of exploitation than anything else. She wants to horrify the audience but comes up with something that is just plain horrible. Not even a single scene is really scary. Even the dialogue she has written for many of the characters sound like she's so desperately trying to be hip and witty but utterly fails to be so.

The movie could have also been Megan's chance to show she can act well since she was mainly a decoration in the ''Transformers'' flicks, but alas, she delivers a completely unconvincing, one-dimensional performance. And it's too bad she was made to co-star with Amanda, who can certainly act circles around her. Even those who'd go see this mainly for Megan's body will be disappointed as she remains fully covered all throughout. The end credits try to show what happens to the band members who tried to kill Jennifer but it all falls flat, like they're expecting there would be a sequel. But the movie is a big flop in the States so there is certainly no part 2 in sight for this boring movie.

I thought this movie was entertaining and it kept me interested from beginning to end. Most definitely worth a second watch. Megan Fox did a good job. The acting wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. The bar catching on fire lost me but all in all good movie.

Jennifer's Body was mostly what the movie was about,albeit for me to complain.Megan Fox was excellent in this movie loosly based on the repricusions of tampering with the occult without full knowledge of it.A sacrifice goes wrong girl comes back to life with a taste for human flesh,uses her body to acheive what she desires,her best friend finds out about her secret and learns how to destroy her.Over all good movie....

exelent film well worth watching megan fox at her best without taking her clothes off good story line from begining to end would actualy like to see a second one too it i just dont understand how the bar burnt down and went up so quickly but thats it x
