Watch Longford: Biopic of Lord Longford, known for many years for his work with prisoners and prisoners rights in general. The film focuses on Longford's work on behalf of Myra Hindley convicted, along with her boyfriend Ian Brady, of several child murders. Hindley is nothing short of notorious and even Longord's wife is shocked when he announces that he will visit her in prison. When Prime Minister Harold Wilson removes him as the Government Leader in the House of Lords soon after his visits to Hindley are made public, Longford continues to work for her release. The talented Peter Morgan wrote the script of this quality TV film about faith, gullibility, cynicism and manipulation.

Even though this is a good film the director has got Longford's character completeley wrong, he was a hard nosed outspoken man who thought he was right in everything he did and said. He not only fought for Hindley's parole, but a host of other *monsters* he felt the justice system had failed. It just shows what sort of person he was when he was best man at one of his *friends* weddings who just happened to be Charles Bronson, painted the most violent man in Britain at that time. We should all be allowed to choose our own friends but for him to choose the one's he did while being in the position of power he was in was, in my eyes, outrageous, and I really do think he did it just to cause controversy. No, Longford was not the frail, squeaky voiced, easy manipulated little man that this film portrays at all. His own words sum him up *I am the outcast of outcasts* After saying all that its still not a bad watch 3/5

A good man?!! He was as psychopathic as her he fought to free. She is where she should have been 50 years ago, 6ft under, and I would gladly put you there with her if you're such a fan. You absolute arsehole!
