It's 1 year between season 2 and 3, 1 year between s. 3 and 4, and 5 years between s. 4 and 5.

But if the marriage was the plan all along why would they try to kill Arthur in season 1?

This CAN'T be the end! Merlins story by far carries on from the death of Arthur... If they end it here, BBC or ITV need a good kick in the bollox as they've only told half the fable!

This is a slapstick episode! 'He seems to spend most of his spare time in the tavern.' Hilarious!

You can tell it's made for children, because none of the people seem to have any blood...

Oh yeah and another thing: Why the hell did he take a two day ride on a horse when he had a Freaking dragon that could have flown him there? These are some of the things the show did very poorly.

It was no BSG but it'll do. I have to admit that the final scene of Merlin walking past modern day Avalon was honestly more powerful than the entire series run. I can't explain why I followed this show from start to end. It was never really good, but far from bad. I really enjoyed the story line the entire series, and like many others was quite discouraged that Camelot never got to see magic pass. Maybe it wasn't meant to or whatever but some sort of resolution should have been made there. I think that if BBC wants to keep running with this they should do a spin-off of Merlin's life through the ages. Bring back all the old characters but in different roles and have him going through everyday life having to hide his magic from the public like before. Maybe bring back Arthur as somewhat of a villain that Merlin takes a liking to and tries to better his future. Kind of do a whole Angel theme where Merlin uses his past experiences through the ages to solve problems in the modern day. Maybe have him deal with the underground world of evil magic and it wanting to rise up and destroy humanity rather than just Camelot.

@erik1414 being that this show is all about the life of Merlin and Arthur PRIOR to them becoming the legends they are, Merlin's secret being reviled would "shorten" the plot of the show exponentially !! this show is basically medieval version of "Smallville" and we all know how many seasons it took them to tell Clarks secret!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS "Filming for the fifth series begins March 2012 in Wales and Pierrefonds, France. 13 episodes have been ordered" this means we still got 20+ episodes AT LEAST :D :D :D :D :D :D with all the deaths in season 4 i was afraid they were about to cancel the show :(

And did u ever think that maybe Merlins persecutions of Modred might be the reason/even that turns him evil? perhaps he is good right now but the constant misstrust from Merlin might just be the triger that will turn the nice knight into a evil killer ...

Not thrilled with this episode or most of the new season. even before this Gwen and Arthur hardly seem into eachother anymore. And why would Gwen so easily turn on everyone?
