It's a cute lil movie if you don't mind reading subs. Definitely more for teenagers rather than adults I think 3/5

I actually love this movie. I got a copy years ago and watched it so much that I didn't have to read the subtitles and picked up some Swedish slang. I just found it easy to relate to both characters and saw myself in them. I thought it was brilliant and really hit home for me. Good one if you're open minded and very relateable for some. 3/5

i honestly wasnt all that impressed with this film..its like a knock-off swedish version of 'all over me'..now THAT movie is one of my faves..i watched it religiously when i was 16..amazing=]

Fucking Åmål is a coming-of-age comedy set in a sleepy little Swedish town called Åmål -- the most boring place on earth according to one of its residents, the adolescent girl Elin. Meanwhile, one of her classmates, Agnes, is quietly in love with Elin, but no one knows about it except her computer. The title comes from Elin's frequent comment about her new home town. The two share a kiss as the result of some cruel manipulation from Elin, but Elin soon returns to apologize (and I don't want to spoil it, so I leave the rest to you).

This is a 'slice of life' film with Moodysson's typical wit and humour. I also have to mention that Ingmar Bergman considered Moodysson to be one of contemporary Sweden's most talented directors.

Lukas Moodysson is supposed to be one of Swedens greatest directors. Can't say agree about that. I don't like his movies, never did and never will. This is just my opinion if you want to watch it than go ahead and don't let my comment bother you.
