this movie is absolutely the best story ever!!!! I read it in sixth grade and i still cant get enough. its dark and cold, deep and oppressively! if you read it as a child youll never forget it. it will shape youre reading forever! It contains everything a tale needs: fight for freedom, black magic, death and love, darkness and manipulation, friendship and sacrifices, lonliness and brotherhood, beautiful girls and rebellious servants... you cant ask for more! best german fairytale!!!

This looks really good but the subtitles are shockingly bad on the versions here. They're so badly translated into English that it spoils the whole thing - I had to stop watching. My advice: don't bother until you can actualy understand what the characters are saying* *Of course if you speak German, go right ahead.

I didn't read the comments before watching..... But yeah the subtitles are horrid.. I'm halfway through the movie and honestly I'm not sure what is going on lol... So yeah watch this on your own risk, cause the movie looks good but the translation sucks.

This was a good film, I'd say suitable for everyone. Don't listen to the comments about bad subtitles unless you actually speak german - they make perfect sense and it's no problem following the story.
